Oh, we already had that, it was called the Prequels. If you mean new Star trek, they actually didn't add in teh flares, that was the actual lens filter they used that caused the halacions

If JJ Abrams does indeed direct it I shall be happy, he has done some brilliant things & some of my favourite shows have been written & directed by him & he has created some very clever movies.

Well, I'm not a big Star Wars fan but this sounds ok to me. Can't be any worse than what George Franchisicide Lucas did. What I think is pretty silly though is that I heard Darth Vader would return which sounds like something from a fanfiction. I think they should just make a new trilogy that is set so far into the future they can just start of fresh with new heroes, villains, etc.
