Devil Triigger
Play outside the box
Hey, I thought I'd make an account to let you guys in on some secwets.
So the latest update we received was The Fight and The Secret, behind them was The Chase, but that's not relevant here.
So I find it very odd that the Japanese stage demo was recorded a few weeks before we received The fight, so it would be an older version of the game right?
Yes and No,
I lined up the 2 videos and noticed places where one video was an improvement of the other, and vice verser.
JAPANESE STAGE DEMO OF THE FIGHT:
THE FIGHT:
From the beginning, I was pretty certain that the Jap demo was behind, as there are no cars on the streets and an extra has changed location on screen. As we continue and Dante enters Limbo, the sky begins to spin and overall, The Fight version offers a far more dramatic scene. Even more proof that this video should be ahead.
But as dante runs forward, "Kat" (if that is her name) is running alongside Dante in the Jap demo only. Perhaps taking that out was just a preference, incase you change Dante's direction and Kat glitches. Speaking of Kat, she is undefinable in the Jap demo. Which helps since she doesn't move her mouth in The Fight, or any video of her infact (Nor does she have hair by the looks of things).
As we follow on to the battle, the opening sequence of the battle is clearly improved on The Fight. But it's the end of the battle that's interesting.
During the battle, I find Dante's sword to have better white trail in the Jap version, but it could be my imagination.
In The Fight, Dante just kills the enemy and moves on BUT in the Jap demo, he performs a Final Fantasy style finishing move which actually looks pretty good. Why it's absent from The Fight is beyond me. Perhaps it broke the fluidity of entering and exiting battles. I suppose it would get tiring to see the same animation every battle, including being against just one enemy.
As Dante continues onward, his sword is pulsing red in the Jap demo, perhaps the charged up Devil Trigger?
We get to the point where Dante reconfigures the cameras lens by ripping it out of its socket. The only difference here is that in The Fight, he kicks it against a wall and it just seems to hang on air, but it appears to get caught on a surface that isn't present.
However, in the Jap demo, the cameras eye hits upon a surface that IS present. Now there's no reason at all why they'd take that out. (pics below)
Oh well, I'm sure they're still changing things!
I love the direction the games going. Alas it may not be the perfect example of Devil May Cry based on the previous games, but it stands on it's own pretty damn strong!
Now that your calm and cool, get going!
