the recent preview show only basic moves and then the v2 version i was really hoping for more rebellion moves like crazy dance in so on..kind of dissatisfying. on another note isnt the devil form still lame? I thought it would change by now unlike the past dt that allowed invincible frames and extra damaging frame(rising dragon) its a simple spartan mode but unlike that you cant get hit????

thats a problem when it comes to style videos no one good will use it

Well the DT multi-hit bug broke the game in DMC4 too much I suppose...you could go to BP 80 floors without the slightest effort just with prop and real impact. I think the lamest DT was in 3.
I've posted my thoughts about DT in previous threads when I played the demo, but it's a thing that you can't think it's cool unitl you touch it...from my experience.
Crimson hit-effects, hit sounds, the background turning into gothic-like classic DMC. It's the perfect homage.

I like the DT, in fact I prefer it to the old ones, never was a fan of that monster/alien look that it used to have, but that's just me :)

I like how DT looks in this game, but its use I'll agree that is garbage. Even if it does work with Distortion-like stuff, the way it's mapped on the controller makes it just not worth it.

Yeah, i do agree that DT is lame in DmC jus the hair colour and jacket changing. I don't know why enemies get tossed in the air when he DT's , makes no sense - seems deliberate to insist on combos. I liked how combos were a means to get through missions and game not being all about combos but an intuitive gameplay that help blend with the demons that are dante, vergil and nero. Although i was obsessed with technique i.e JC, i have realized that it is good technique but not the only technique to complete missions or enjoy the wide variety of gameplay that DMC 4 offered.I was mad about the fact that i truely lost my ability to build my own combos cuz i did not discover JC and was really depressed when i watched some combo movies and feared that i did not concentrate enough on the game to build such lavish combos. Lately, i realized that i enjoy DMC games because of the concept of demons and humans and that i could build my own combos , ofcourse with JC not taking the my entire experience but still with other aspects as multiple weapon switching and combining moves of all weapons in a way that i am happy about the way that i played and it was me who discovered combinations than being spoiled over by youtube. I also stopped watching youtube videos, though appealing as they are, so that i don't lose myself or lose my interest in building combos offered by the wide variety of weapons.

On topic though, My most favourite DT design is of agni and rudra, though shoes seem girly, i like the sharp edges on the back and effect of fire and wind after each hit from the weapons.

Let's make a few things clear: You all do realize that the whole concept of DT is unrealistic, so what does it matter whether the enemies start floating or not.

Now onto my second point, why I like this kinda DT over the Monster/Alien/Bug -monster design.
Actually the only DT in the older games that I liked was from DMC4 Dante's DT
This looks like a true badass

And these look weak, are these guys like cosplayers or something :P

This guy here ... the power is flowing from him, it's like super saiyan, just 1000 times cooler. I think that in this case less is more, the hair turning white is brilliant, Dante shows his true colors ya know.

If he would turn into something like this, I'd probably shut my TV.

im not talking looks function is what i mean what does that do to the gamplay

Yea, in comparison to the older DT from previous games this one definitely seems pretty lame.

Design wise I would give it to the old DTs (minus DMC3 DT which I felt lookd kinda lame compared to the badass DMC2 and DMC4 DTs).

And function wise I would give it to the old DTs simply because the DT is pretty much a boost to your overall character making him faster, stronger, and giving you slight regen heath.

This DT just.....launches enemies into the air for the most part.:/

I barely noticed a change in attack damage or character speed.

My point is, it doesn't seem like a overall boost for the character and feels more like a weird minigame that gives you the original color scheme of Dante as a bonus.

Just my opinion on things...

Look at all the Poison boss fight videos, if it didn't do anything but launch the enemies in the air it would be useless in all the boss fights and against the toughest enemies, you are severely underestimating it.
The air fight part is just like flying with DT in DMC1 and DMC2, a bonus feature...

Lol, obviously you missed the part where I said, "for the most part"

I never said it was the ONLY thing it could do, so please get your stuff straight before quoting someone.

And also, I said "barely" noticed any speed or attack increase, that means that I did in fact notice it, specifically during the boss battle, but It was "barely".

It wasn't as apparent as the other DT forms from previous games, that was my point.

I use to hate the DT.

It seemed rather useless and really had no point gameplay wise, but story wise it's really important. If they had a real DT, fanboys would probably complain back then about "If Dante's hair is not white, it's not alright!" So NT said, "F*ck it, let's give him white hair, but let's make it so that it has importance. How about making it a DT?" Thus we have this one.

At least this DT HAS a purpose. It lifts enemies into the air and allows you to go ham on them, not just makes you go fast and that's it. I was never a big fan of the DT's cause they always looked so God damn ugly. DMC3 was the worst though.

From what I have seen, and from what's been shown of the DT in general;

I'd rather have the DT of DmC with purpose and actual story elements, then a DT from the past DMC's that's just there to be there, and has no real purpose at all except to make you "look cool" but instead you look ugly as F*ck.:/

Isn't demons or devils supposed to be ugly and ferocious creatures? I don't see the point of this whole "ugly DT" thing.
Yeah, i do admit now that the new DT looks cool to me(Because he looks like old dante so what?)but i would still prefer a more demonic look of a DT from the recent games or the recently CGI trailer.

Does this look demonic to you guys? To me, no

more possessed. And I don't want a "bishonen" devil trigger, I just want one that doesn't look like a mosquito fussed with a human and a moth.

What kind of DT you want then? Someone with pointy demonic ears, red eyes and sharp canines?
And I think demons having a insect lineage is reference from Beelzebub from the demonology.

Sounds to me like the majority of your dislike steams mostly from the Spadara DT form, judging by the reasons you just listed.

DTs like DMC2 and DMC4 for example don't look like that.

Just take a look at the DMC4 DT listed above and this one from DMC2

Doesn't seem like a mosquito/moth/human fusion if you ask me.

Of course, this is all opinion based, but I just feel your being a bit to harsh on the previous DTs in order to hype this new one.

Yes! This is the kind of DT that I wouldn't mind him having.

Not the bug forms that have been in the two actual main story related games.

Not really hyping it, but just more so mad that DMC has always been with mosquito-looking demons being the best ones.

i think the new dt in this game is cool but yeah they coulded have done more with it. My favorite form of dante so far is the dreadnaught form he uses in dmc4 even though it's not really a dt
