How many writers are here? I didn't know there were so many.

Well, writing is easier than making a game/movie/comic (with comics/manga, you need a scanner, and I don't have one) or game combo movies (I don't have a camera/video capture card), so, most people use that as their creative outlet.

That, and writing is just plain awesome.

I know. lol. I write. I've done a lot of poetry, am trying to finish a short story and write a novel. Looks like I'm one among many here.

I basically write to make some of these annoying pictures and voices in my head stop for a short time. In other words to get what's in my mind out before it drives me insane. I also hear music in my head, so I sing. My birds love the singing part. One gets worried if I stop singing. He seems to think I'm a song bird and will die if I stop.

My bizarro fiction stories are indeed pretty batsh!t insane but, I'm doing these for fun and to get myself out there.

My novel however I'm taking more seriously and that's going to be a bit of a quirky scifi romantic comedy. It's also gonna have a bit of allegory in it so I'm taking my time. I eventually will start writing my horror stories again though being such an avid horror fan.

I won a writing competition with my horror story I wrote back in high school. It was rather amusing how it made some teachers concerned about me. All I did was reply that if I scared or disturb you then my story did its job.
