so it seems like DmC is not as deep combat wise as DMC3/4

but you got guys like oppressedwriter constantly trying to prove that its deeper then dmc3/4

why is this?

you can argue that maybe DmC has more "fun" and "stylish" combat, but DMC 4 is much deeper

DMC3/4 are all high performance and speed, complete with the deep, smooth and stylish 60fps gameplay, on dated engines as well. Same with Bayonetta and even MGR.

DmC is just all looking pretty with streamlined gameplay on an easy to use engine.

That's it.

bayonetta still has the deepest combat system of all
That's a statement, not a fact. This sort of thing is subjective. Some people think Bayonetta is, others prefer DmC or DMC3/ 4.

Personally, I don't care about 'deepness'. That's just a silly thing anyway. How is 'deepness' rated? One would think it's subjective; therefore, a pointless thing to argue the toss about. Besides, I'm more into having fun with a game instead of comparing, and I like Bayonetta, DmC, and the classic DMCs. They're all fun games.

Why argue about which has the best combat when there is never going to be one conclusive answer that everyone agrees with? It's pointless.

He's just stating his opinion, just as much as you are stating yours and everyone else...
That's what I was saying. Just in case it turned into some sort of 'my opinion is fact and I will not accept yours, arguing to the death' sort of threads.

Besides, you can't start of with a statement like that without explaining why. It would make more sense if it was explained why Bayonetta was deeper.

This is what I don't like about making an opinion, even saying like "My opinion is right and yours is so wrong". Yeah, the OP should've at least explained why so if that's the case.

There's no such thing as a right or wrong opinion! No opinion is an absolute fact. We all have our own opinions! (Saying inspired from Hassan I Sabbah's Nothing is an absolute reality; all is permitted).

By 'deeper' he probably means that DMC3 and DMC4 are more fast-paced and allow for more combos - at least, DMC3 and DMC4 indeed seem deeper in that respect. They also didn't have as many exploits, I guess. Not too long ago, I saw in a thread that an attack you could spam in DmC was being compared to using an attack like the Round Trip or Maximum Bet against the Bianco Angelos when they do their orb attack. The difference between these cases is that the dark orb thing is a test of your timing, and the other is basically an exploit. You also don't always get the chance to destroy the orb and get an SSS rating.

Bayonetta was deep in the sense that you could do many combos if you took the time to learn them. The problem with it was that combos weren't laid out for you - IIRC, I had to search the internet to find decent combos. One or two were explained in the loading screen. Boss battles were a bit cheap sometimes; I remember trying to evade some of the last boss's attacks, but they were heat-seeking bullshite.

Anyway, in a previous thread, everybody seemed to agree that DmC is not as deep as DMC, so if anybody's suddenly backpedaling, calling it the others' opinion, I find that very odd. No offense intended - maybe some people here haven't seen that thread.

*eye roll* did you even read my post I in fact said DmC would be an 8 in combo potential vs an 8.5 for DMC4, DMC4 gives slightly few more possibilites through to Dante having vergil's teleport and what not, but overall DmC is better because its both fun and in depth. You can't just let a game have a free pass for having decent mechanics but a terrible game campaign full of backtracking to use them in.
