Signature Rules - Revised 3 Aug 2010
Take effect from 4 Aug 2010
As many members may know that Signature Limits have been a constantly fluctuating subject for many months now. Despite a well written post by a handsome Staff Member on the subject, the established rules have been repeatedly ignored.
There are reasons for the limitations that the Staff set, with the big two being:
-Keeps the forum loading quickly
-Makes browsing a thread easier and quicker
These are two factors that the staff are keen to encourage, after all a cluttered forum filled with images that are barely loading due to the toll it takes on loading times is not a fun forum (Wow! Try saying that paragraph three times fast!)
Therefore as a result DevilMayCry.org will be using a similar system to the Resident Evil Network (REN - another forum in this forums connections).
We will be adopting a strict 500px (wide) x 200px (high) rule for the ENTIRE signature space. This will include images, spoiler tags and text. With no exceptions.
However, the Staff here at DevilMayCry.org understand that users want to express a little information in their signature space and have thus come to a suitable compromise.
THE RULE
Users with signatures that exceed the 500px x 200px limit must choose between Text or Image, if you choose Image the image must not exceed the aforementioned 500px x 200px, if you choose text then you must not exceed the equivalent space in text.
BUT, in order to keep signatures 'personal' the staff have decided that an additional Spoiler will be allowed for the Text/Image selection that you cannot have on display.

I chose text, therefore the images I am not having on display will be spoilered.
This will take effect from Midnight (GMT 00:00) tonight.
From tomorrow we will edit signatures and issue warnings.
If this rule is not followed we will disable the option to have Signatures all together.
This is an easy rule to follow, so please respect us by doing so.
We're not trying to stop anyone expressing their artistry in their signatures, BUT we need to keep the forum tidy, afterall, without restrictions and Spoiler Tags it takes silly time scrolling and loading just one page of an active topic.
If anyone has any problems regarding these new rulings please feel free to notify myself or another member of the friendly site staff.
