Royalguard and Gunslinger moves Confirmed

I think you have to do this for rising rainstorm

spin analog stick/ press square repeadly (on ground)

And for bulletstorm

spin analog stick/ press square repeadly (in air)

Seems rather counter-intuitive. I'm still not sold on it. I thought the Angel/Devil modes were supposed to clean up the mess that was the Style System? Bah. Hopefully it will all work out in the end.

That's why they are streamlined. They aren't officially styles, it's just moves/abilities of that particular style making a comeback. Why DMC3 and 4 styles were kinda annoying was because you had your "style move" assigned to one single button... so you had to constantly be changing styles in order for that one button's functionality to do different things.

Each styles had very unique characteristics that were a major part of DMC, and since they wanted older fans to relate to this game, then those making an appearance is great. But now they are integrated into the angel/demon modes... so they aren't styles anymore, they are just "abilities" of the weapons/modes.

Yup they pretty much solved that problem.

But guess what? DMC 2 had done this before.

The Alt buttons are what separate the two games. DMC 2 had gunslinger hammered into the combat.

I think having three different dodges/evasive maneuvers in the game is too much. A dodge plus demon mode should be a standing royal guard parry that increases your royal release or powers up your attacks, not another type of dodge.

2 of the 3 dodges are kinda the same one just looks but the demon dodge increase your attack power for a bit if you dodge at the right time. The angles dodge just cover more ground at a faster pace then the regular dodge though but might be more useful in the air since it doesnt look like you can dodge that far in the air with the regular dodge.

Yes, but they could have given that attribute to any of the other dodges. The demon dodge should have been a parry. It allows you to take an attack without losing ground. Plus it could strengthen your attack power by filling up a demon gauge like in previous games.

I never thought that the style system was ever really nessesary, that the skills could be incorporated in a more creative way.

I hope they would remove the tradition of the grenade launcher that can't be shot while in the air.
(Pandora had it's gatlings though)
And give us back our point blank and riot stamp. I think it will be good if it could be executed while grabbing the enemy.

How about they just not screw up what they have?

I'll admit the shifting world force NT to make things linear, but would it kill them to make bigger levels? Sorry, I'm griping. I'm just in a bad mood. It's just that, while the Angel/Demon mode was a good idea, I somehow think that it still isn't enough. It's like they needed a fourth mode or something.

Royalguards abilities didnt charge your DT(not more than any other move at least) it had its own specific gauge to use and for release and that armor thing Dante does in DMC4. And who know if those dodges are even permanent, you maybe be able to equip different abilites for those combinations of buttons since they dont really seem necessary( doubtful but still possible) like maybe the angel dodge will become air trick..

That's what I was referring to. Performing a royal guard parry charges up a gauge that strengthens your royal release or when maxed, allows you to become a dreadnought.

It will be cool to see Gunslinger and Royalguard again. Anyone think we'll see new moves different from the other games in these Styles?

preferebly thanx to how it is set up there is an infinite number of ways to use and maybe even combine them. i think the styles will be able to combine in combos. for example, a combo combining trickster and swordsmaster would make you zoom around them while doing a "trillion" stabs.

But moves like royal release and dreadnought haven't been seen or confirmed yet. If those moves or similar moves are there then yea the bar should also be there but atm it just seems that you can parry attacks with your own attack, just need the right timing.

I'm aware of that. I was suggesting that they should be.

It could be incorporated into a later weapon. Maybe he'll get a shield or some gauntlets that can be used for blocking in either his angel or demon forms.
