Immortals of a certain type can be killed by physical means , others can't by physical means as they regenerate from a cell

Others have it through aging etc

My theory is that u would have to destroy mundus's body entirely to kill him , and neither Dante or sparda at the time of their battles with him had an attack immense enough to do that

But of course I could be entirely wrong , but as I said it's just a theory

Is that the case though? Berial aparently ruled after mundus and hes no where near top teir

Berial might not have been a match for the descendants of Sparda, but he was still a powerful demon. I can't think of any ordinary demons who could have taken the position from Berial.

Echidna, was probably more powerful... And many other demon too... Berial was defeated by Nero in mission 2 and Nero didn't even upgraded himself, he was still very weak there but still defeated Berial.... Also where is stated that Berial was king of demon world after mundus? I read it on Wikipedia but not in an official source

I don't think so. I've always found Echidna less difficult than Berial.

And I think Berial's in-game bio states that he succeeded Mundus.

But I talk about story, not in game difficulty, in story perspective Nero defeated berial in mission 2 whitout many upgrade, while he fought echidna whit Yamato and devil trigger and many upgrade... The game bio doesn't stated that he was mundus successor...

I wouldn't go that far , king Cerberus is strong and has incredible endurance

But he isn't the same level as mundus, and either was berial

They are general level but mundus was called emperor for a reason

Cerberus was a king and dante say that he was tought, even if dmc 5 dante is really powerful and had sin dt... But yeah probably he is not in the same level as mundus.... But mundus belong to the past.... In dbz Freezer was called emperor of the universe while there were more powerful entity around, he was strong then but now he is surpassed by every dbz enemy... Don't counting super of course since he became more powerful now... I think mundus was powerful than, but I don't think he is so powerful now...

Even so mundus now with his power restored would walk through berial , echidna , bael , Goliath , king Cerberus u name it quite handy

Despair embodied and urizen , maybe at a push Abigail would be the only demons to give him trouble or best him outside of the sparda line

I hope he return in future dmc, i want to see how he is compared now to Dante and other
