Regarding the newest gameplay trailers

"Flawless Kill": This was the thing that bothered me the most, the ranking system seemed to be that of a mainstream one. It matched that of what I believe I have seen in Bullet Storm. And really it looked nothing like Devil May Cry.
I dont really see a problem with it since you've always been awarded style points for killing enemies, the only difference now is that the game tell you what you did to earn those style points.

You know that the list beneath the style metter is from Bayonetta. The Bayonetta one is less complicated, it just says if it's a kick, punch, WW, or shot and so on.

I disagree. It really resembles a list from an extreme sports video game like SSX Tricky or Tony Hawk.

And I dissagree right back.
On the top corner you see the the moves and the ammount of points you get for it. Now, I haven't played any sports games where they tell you name off the move you are pulling but I know that in theis DmC game you get points for piling combos they same way you do in this video.

i can see where you can get the resemblence of DmC's scoring and bayonetta's. the only difference is DmC's ranking is more clear, because instead of just giving you points for moves it tells exactly what move or combo you are doing. but i can also see the resemblence from a tony hawk game.

So how will the rank determine if lets say you start a three hit combo with rebellion then switch to gilgamesh do a simple three hit combo cancel with royal guard then switch to swordmaster and use prop shredder into trickster and then teleport with the enemy in the air into....oh right....you can't do that in the game...you just have angel stance and demon stance....right...nevermind....i guess it wouldn't even register this simple combo....

come on man, why bring everybody down with negativity? i understand if you don't like the game, but there's no need to mock the ranking system when you don't even know what it's capable of yet.

Ive seen enough to determine my choice in opinion...not to sound rude or anything or not trying to sound like a total bitch because you seem like a calm person and i admire that from all the commotion happening but this is my two cents take it as you will

Well, with a small preset number of combos, let's say 3 or four per weapon, it can't be that hard to predict what you are doing. The style system is to complex, maybe even chaotic, for your standard gamer so it wasn't going to last, let's get that out in the open now. This new system is more casual friendly and so more people will pick it up and it replace the style system. The question is will it be compatible with advanced players; sure, it has the standard works like jump cancel and bullet juggling, but is it really that simple.

Ninja theory said it would be "casual friendly"...coming from the guy that did not care for the original fanbase...what im trying to say is that if you notice the ranking system and how it is able to determine what moves you are doing it dispalys them to you....which I believe that there is only certain things you can do...because Tameem stated that the demon weapons were the heavy ones and likely to be at the finish of a combo...only angel weapons being weak do more combo capability...so you are limited...to set combos to cancel into other combos...other words....they dumbed down the gameplay..so I believe that with a press of a three buttons you can basically do a dance macabre....

I hope your wrong. A more advance system of combos should wther allow you to link in all three or have combos that are combinations of two or all three stances to allow compexety and smoothness of use between all three.

In the gameplay videos you see the demon weapon only bring them up in the air and slam them down...besides that the angel weapon does the same combo moves in the air with some rebellion here and there...

Yes, but there is still time to change some things here and there and add a combo or two.

In terms of gore, I don't think it's a bad thing. I do, however, hate that stupid green slime your enemies bleed on 4, I'd take blood ove that any day.

I wouldn't consider it to be that gory since all DMC's had blood popping off enemies....and the only green slime I saw was on the lizard demons

You do realize that there will be other weapons than the ones shown in the trailers we've seen so far, right? There could be a fast demon weapon and a slow, powerful angel weapon as well. Maybe some unexpected, creative weapons as well of either kind to mix up in a combo.

Im pretty sure you missed the interviews were he clearly states that the demon weapons where the heavy hitters while the angel ones where light in damage but are the ones that do the combos....cause he makes a big emphasis on that

I thought he only meant the two weapons presented in the demo and not overall.

Antoniades never even once talked about the other weapons that might or might not be in the final game. We only now that Arbiter is a heavy hitter and Osiris is for crowd control, whether this scheme will translate into the other demon/angel-weapons is not known yet.
