Well, I don't think this is really mert20004. 
The entire RE community won't agree, unfortunately. They're deadset on saying RE4 is the poster child of the franchise... even though that's barely a proper survival horror game.
Mind you, these ARE the same people who hate RE5. That's particularly bizarre to me, because 4 and 5 aren't really all that different. The only thing that's different is that in 5, Sheva is with you every step of the way, which can get annoying when she uses your ammo and healing items. But in general, 4 and 5 play practically the same.
It's pretty stupid how 5 is detested, when 5 is just like 4. But RE fans are a contrarian lot, indeed. It's hard to please a fanbase that's basically from three separate eras. If you get my drift.

I didn't create this thread for people to agree with me, I created this thread to share an opinion piece like how I did to other places. RE6 The Best Game Ever Made deserves as much love as possible.
RE4 is a proper survival horror game. RE5 is a proper survival horror game. RE6 is a proper survival horror game.
RE6 is the best action game.

RE6 is the best romantic game.
RE6 is the best revenge game.
Regardless of what anyone else says, I'm going to keep enjoying RE6 The Best Game Ever Made for what it is.

RE4 is completely overrated, in my opinion. I understand that using the same elements can get stale, but as you know, I feel like RE4 was when Capcom shifted away from the scary tone of the entries before. It just feels too much like an action game at heart. However, RE4 is by no means an awful game. People just like it for reasons not really related to RE as a whole.
RE4 definitely favours action. That isn't to say RE4 is not scary in some sections. I dare anyone to say the castle wasn't scary, or the factory with the Regenerators. Although to me, a lot of what made RE special in prior years got evaporated with the stunts, the merchant, and the addition of things like co-op.
But RE5 isn't scary whatsoever. I do agree that RE6 is hated on considerably, and it is unfair, as I felt that was more in keeping with RE than 4 or 5 ever were. Seeing as how their storylines concern farmers and tribes, rather than the undead, RE6 was more like RE2 and 3. Being that RE6 had zombies and Umbrella was the focal point again, I like it for that reason.
And at least Chris looked like Chris. That redesign he got later on in 7 was so lame. I don't think they've done a bad job with Jill or Claire in recent RE media, though, or even Leon. His soy boy look aside, he ain't too bad. You can at least tell it's Leon.
But the original RE2 still beats the remake by miles. There was just a lot to moan about with the remakes of 2 and 3, because they ended up cutting a lot of enemy types and making it more woke.

Most folk typically include Wesker or Jill. I would personally put Chris, but they kind of wrecked him with RE7, losing a lot of his comrades, and then making him into an old, lying douche in RE8. Hehe.

They are character portrayals among the best. Leon isn't one of my favourite characters even though his RE6 portrayal is among the best much like his other portrayals featuring Matthew Mercer. Other than those I would also include Barry, Rebecca, Moira, Claire during Alyson Court era, Jill during Julia Voth era, Chris' portrayals featuring Roger Craig Smith along with him and Piers in RE6 prequels, Damnation and RE:4 Ada, Vendetta Chris as well as RECV antagonists excluding Kanzenban / X alterations.

When it comes to Capcom bringing back plot aspects that were dropped long ago, it is like pushing an elephant or a piano up a hill.
I don't see the point in a RE0 remake, to be honest, when CV should have been remade long ago. These are old games, so we already know what occurs in them anyway. The same with a supposed movie version of RE0. But CV must not be one of Capcom's favourite games.
They likely just remade RE4, because they know people wouldn't hesitate to buy that one. But it's a bit daft when they were already remaking the games in order for a few years, then got dollar signs in their eyes again, leading to big sales targets being met.
If RE9 ends up being another soft reboot, they'll probably throw in more plot twists that will likely be left unresolved down the road. It's like watching a TV show where they air all the episodes in the wrong order, causing you the viewer to feel pretty darn confused. LOL.
Like, it's just hilarious how they milk this series over and over again, and then just forget what they put in the storylines already. So all the things in prior years basically amounts to nothing.

I do feel that RE fans are toffee nose sorts, as you know. Just watch the Silent Hill fans defend that new f title as well, when even Konami admitted it is its own game.
However, my lawyer told me if I don't go to a court far from my home on Friday regarding a complainer in that city, I will be arrested with a warrant. But I tried to say I have agoraphobia which prevents me from venturing to places I don't know. I haven't been diagnosed with it as of yet. But hell. Call a spade a spade.
Unfortunately, it ain't looking good.

THAT IS SO ****ing anoying. Sheva following you every ****ing way and picking up items unsolicited. So damn annoying yes. That is the main reason I wont play RE5 now. I dont have that high opinion of the game in general but at least I would do the effort to play the game but this damn personal space being ruined every damn second is so infuriating. Sheva and other co-ops players have you ever heard about SOME distance? Was kinda annoyed at this in FINAL FANTASY XV too. Especially when you run and Ignis,Gladio, Prompto always run ahead of you. The only way is to make for unlimited warp strikes to partially avoid that. IT IS great that they somehow moderated that in the Final Fantasy Remake. Since this year's Summer Game Fest is fast approaching, rumours suggest RE9 will be shown.
I certainly hope so. It has been a hot minute since any real RE news has occurred. But I do feel that RE and Silent Hill have sort of been "betrayed" in some way as franchises that once had an identity, of sorts. It's difficult to even say that with the way I present my words, though. I mean, when it comes to a franchise, the founders don't necessarily have to abide to the usual fan oriented rules. Like if early entries do things in a particular manner, all games not like it are allegedly fakery. Since they make the games, what they change isn't really right or wrong, I suppose. You can say, well, I don't really dig these new ideas, or the direction is disappointing me. But ultimately, they decide how it is.
What I meant was, the changes one makes can be so great, that again, said changes are too noticeable not to mention or dwell on. If you know where I am coming from.
