Vergil can't die at the end of the game because he has his own DLC story.

I believe it does because he is wearing the exact same outfit. It would be odd if he carved through the bowls of the demon world, came back to head the "order" and just decided "yeah gotta wear my same clothing". I also recall him saying it's "madness" to go to the demon world to save Kat. It came off like he had never been there before because he said, "we have to put our lives in each others hands".
Granted I can't be 100%, so we will just have to wait and see. Vergil wont die though. They know how popular he is and will want him for a sequel.
