~Mom is Not Here~
Mom is not here; she's gone for a while
She left without a tear, not a word, not a smile.
She just went to sleep and never woke up.
She left us so quickly, it seems so abrupt.
We hate to be without her; we had her for so long
We ask her to forgive us for the things we've done wrong.
But knowing our mother, she already had
Just the thought of her children always made her heart glad.
She taught us to pray, to love and forgive,
Her love never faltered, regardless of what we did
Her hands now so still, are finally at rest,
Her life was not easy, she gave it her best.
She diapered, she fed, she scrubbed, she planted
The things she taught seem so taken for granted.
We'll never forget the smile she wore,
It was there during play time or even a chore.
Her life can't be measured by the good days or bad,
Only God can determine the heart that she had.
So many exist just because she was here,
She was Mom, she was Grandma, and she was Sister, so dear.
Mom is not here, she gone with the King
We know He has given her a new song to sing!
She's laughing with family and friends who are there
He's given her an unfading smile to wear.
Whatever she lacked in this life here below,
She has gained now in heaven, we're so glad she could go.
We will see her again; she has showen us the way.
So we now say, "good-bye Mom, you were loved in your day."
