well i think its because if it said Devil Never Cry like it did at the end of 1 then they would have to change the name of the whole game, because thats where the name comes from...his shop

Maybe they didnt relise the game would be such a hit (kinda like a side project) when capcom did dmc1 so they had a symbolic ending on devil may cry changing its name.

but since they did become a huge hit they decided to keep the name since "devil never cry" has no ring too it.

maybe its just anther thing theyll ignore like the 2nd game

The funny thing is that DMC2, showed Dante's shop name to be "Devils Never Cry" if I remember correctly. That's weird..
