oh jeez..help

so Im kinda stuck....my game says that ive completed mission ten and am looking for the Chalice, yet im still sitting in the valley of the mist. The soul wont show up, and every time i try to go further on, I get stuck in that stupid "blue orb in the sky" secret mission.

oh and so then I get the sign of chastity, and I know you have to put it on that stupid little pedastal thingy, but for some reason it wont let me!!
