No Bloody Palace for Vergil?! Thoughts on Vergil's Downfall

You didn't pay 60 dollars for Vergil's Downfall, and it was confirmed long ago that he wouldn't be playable on BP.

I should make myself clear that I'd pay for a BP designed around Vergil, not just putting him on Dante's downfall

And I wanted a DMc3 story for Vergil.

Seriously though: you should think how your actions of accepting to pay money for VD BP, affects all gamers.
Because believe me it does...

And it's not like i don't want to pay for content, i just don't want to pay for content that chances are i deserv to have when i am paying 60 dollars for a game.

Let the gamers play their games. Don't make this an "Game companies are controlling us" stuff.
 
Personally, I liked VD.

It actually did something that DMC3 lazily didn't do; give Vergil closure. To see his character transition from the first time we see him as a calculated hacking man who wants to be the savior of the world from demons, to the power hungry tyrant who wants to have ultimate power and rule the world with his demon army.

It also showed Vergil's weakness that DMC3 didn't have the balls to show. It showed Vergil's internal struggle of always being second best to Dante. It can be said the same for DMC3. Vergil kind of did feel that he was always second to Dante, and that could even be said for the fanbase. When you see the DMC covers, who's always on the front, taking center stage? Vergil? No. It's either Dante or Nero. But where's Vergil? Oh yeah, he's just "second" best. third being Nero. Back to VD, it was through throwing away his emotions, casting out his heart of compassion and finally saying goodbye to his mother, killing Kat, and even killing his own brother, did he realize that he's going down a dark path that he can't escape now.

Just as DMC3 Vergil.

I am dissapointed that there was no BP for Vergil and no other weapons for him, but to me, it's story was what kept me happy, and that says a lot for me compared to just playing as him with no story of him, and going through the same old missions from before.

NT's Version of Nelo.
And an extremely predictable Story in a sense of internal struggle, it was rushed to its core, it didn't build up, just suddenly threw it into the fire.

We can agree that DMC 3 Vergil didn't get closure (But I still like him alot more then DmC Vergil due to the fact he in a sense had a drive((In a sense) and didn't pull ruling Humanity from out of nowhere like DmC Vergil did.) but it comes to opinion. Thats just it.

And again they pretty much solidified the fact no Vergil in BP. Forget the links, but their were a couple before BP or the game came out that cemented no Vergil in BP.

Of course. We all knew Vergil would be evil. Just like DMC3. I'm surprised people thought it wouldn't be.

And actually there were scenes that were leading up to Vergil's downfall in DmC, so I enjoyed it as it was from those scenes.

My opinion is that VD was content part of the game. But Capcom wanted to sell it as DLC.

I don't know for sure if this is the case. But i can imagine that Capcom said before DmC project started "Here is budget, we want this...and content that we can sellas DLC". DLC that is released shortly after game isn't something i would praise or buy.

If i am right, your giving Capcom 9 dollars for content you've already had right for when you paid 45-60 dollars for DmC.
If i am wrong, well then it's fair.
But here is my point: Noone knows if i am wrong or right. And VD doesn't come off as a appropriate DLC, but more of a content taken out of main game.

Fair enough point, should of been more like Bethesda's DLC's...ohgodyus, those things were the best <3
 
I'd argue these DLC practices is hurting business as well. I for one am waiting with buying Rising (conventiently i still have to wait), because i want all the content in 1 buy.
Sam dlc, Blade wolf dlc, and everything else.

Fans just discovering DMC didn't know about that (As much as the warning flags and sirens were blaring, but I don't know.)

Just one...It was all about Kat.

I didn't see any transformation of him accepting his demonic side leading towards VD. Only time he showed a tiny glint of giving in was dealing with Kat when she was kidnapped.

This is really not a good point.

I paid $30 for DmC, do I deserve less content than you, then?

Most DLC (from all companies) are decided early on the pre-production stages, they need to tie it in with the main game, and make it work. In some cases, they need to balance stuff, so they can't just make it afterwards and throw it in the game.

The main game delivers a lot of content and well worth my $30 I paid when I preordered, and Vergil's Downfall is more than worth my extra $9, I'm getting more content than entire games with this DLC because of the really high replay value. And if modders manage to make we use Vergil to fight Dante's bosses, it would be even better.

-Vergil saying "All war is fought with deception" when he first meets Dante.

-The part where Vergil explains to Dante that him and Dante are Nephilim. how Vergil stood on the demon side of that graffiti art while Dante was on the angel side.

-The dark look he gave Dante while explaining Bob Barbas's tower.

-Phinias saying "and if Mundus is destroyed who will take his place?"

-Him not expecting Kat to still be alive.

-Using Kat to delete his plans in the computer and having Kat stay behind to activate the self destruct sequence.

-Vergil leaving Kat to the swat team.

-Vergil not bothering to save her.

-Vergil shooting Lilith

-Vergil talking about how hacking made him feel "In control."

All leading to his betrayal.

Well notice how he had a change of heart to save Kat, but after she said Dante was better then him (which was the pain he's been dealing with) he killed her. Then he actually killed his brother which was something he'd never do in the main game. Finally the way he said he was going to his mother sounded deviant and pretty maniacal. Then he says goodbye to his mother and break all ties he had to her. And now all he has left is his desire for power to keep him content.

I call that character transition.

Whether your getting more content than entire games is besides point.
I am simply asking you:

How do you know VD isn't content that was taken out of game for sale?
