Someone’s bound to be a heap of trouble for this, but the cat is out of the bag it seems. Rockstar Games were planning to drop the second trailer for L.A. Noire this coming Monday, but the clip managed to leak onto YouTube this morning, likely angering a few PR representatives in the act. It’s a shame people can’t adhere to embargoes.
How long to footage will remain online is uncertain, as reports are coming in that sites are being asked to remove it. The spot is dubbed “Serial Killer”, and shows Detective Cole Phelps on the trail of, you guessed it, a serial killer, apparently targeting women. The game’s facial technology is looking even more impressive in this latest glimpse of the crime drama.
Most interesting is the end of the trailer, which confirms that L.A. Noire has a release date, now dated for May 17th. Rockstar had previously given a window of “Spring 2011″. Whether that’s temporary or placeholder, we’ll find out next week.
