In the context of DmC, Poison is a succubus because the Virility drink that she makes is addictive and keeps the population under control.
In the end, its just a name, so need to get your brony knickers in a twist.

Also Poison/Succubus/Whatever's death was graaah really awful, but kind of cool because of how graphic it was. Weird that the Eryx comes from her, never would have guessed.

I don't know but maybe Poison herself is a sort of milking cow.
She is sort of imprisoned in that area, even though she is a demon.
(In the latest trailer it is seen that demons are naturally in Limbo city, and living in it)
She has these kind of wires that are plugged in her and I sort of think she is forced to vomit and create the "ingredients."
And yeah, without those wires...she is going to have one fast death as you can see, because the platforms simply cannot take her weight and that current leading to that propeller means she has no way of escape.
Possibly those wires inject nutrients directly, and that is why she is so ugly as a succubus.
