I think the people here who don't know if Dante or Vergil are gay or bi are giving too much tought to the notion. All video game characters are straight by defult, unless it's ether specefied otherwise or we are told, namely because most videogames are designed to a demographic, young men. DMC and DmC are very much geared twards the boys, it wasn't till DMC4 that they wanted to shift twards female attention and even then they didn't make Nero's love interest another dude.

I don't think he was attracted. He was joking to Lady. He is closer to male. in novel and manga, he has very good male partners. Brotherly love is an official theme, so Dante's match is Vergil only.

1. Brotherly Love and Romantic Love are different things. Yaoi fanfiction is not canon so Dante is not sexualy attacted to his brother.
2. The type of jokes Dante said around Lady expressed sexual attraction. Gay men do not fake sexual attraction to women in a situation where no on is worried about that type of thing.
3. Dante also showed romantic feelings toward Lady at the end of DMC3.(those feelings seem to have faded by the anime but 10 years had passed by then anything could have happened) and he showed romantic feelings towards Lucia in the last few missions of DMC2.
4. I will admit that there is the possibility that Dante could be Bisexual but there is no evedence for that and even if that is the case he is not sexualy attracted to his brother.
5. It is okay to have fantasies about things you are interested in but it is unreasonable to claim that they are canon. (You don't hear me claiming that Lightning and Serah Farron from FFXIII are a couple in canon)

There are these things called cutscenes that happen in games. They are like movies but shorter and they happen a lot during games. If you watch them you learn things about the charicter that are not shown in gameplay. One of the things you can learn is that the original Dante is attracted to women and that he shows no attraction to men. From that you can conclude that Dante is probably straight and you do not need a dating sim to do it.

If Dante is labelled a sexual deviant, it's probably because Lilith has the hots for him but he's not interested so she's turning him into a narc of sorts. You know. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. My theory aside, I can picture Dante sneaking through night clubs and smacking a butt or grabbing a boob every here and there (haaaaaaaaahahahahaha PERVERT).

If anything, Dante is asexual. He sucks at charming women, he's not interested in men, I think that's enough to demotivate him from the romance scene.
