New Characters added to Marvel v Capcom 3

Taskmaster and Akuma revealed for Marvel Vs. Capcom 3
Another two characters have been announced for Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 - with Taskmaster and Akuma named as the only two unlockable fighters in the game.



Although all the rest of the roster are available right from the start you'll need 2,000 Player Points to unlock Akuma (about as many as you'd get from playing through the Arcade mode once) and 8,000 to play as Taskmaster.

Akuma (aka Gouki) has a long-running career as the extra unlockable character/hidden boss in Street Fighter games. He's a sort of anti-hero version of Ryu and Ken, although actually the younger brother of their sensei Gouken.

Taskmaster is one of the primary villains of Marvel's Deadpool - one of the most prominent new additions to Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. In the comics he has the ability to mimic anyone else's combat moves, which is of course exactly the same shtick practised by fighting game bosses immemorial - from Virtua Fighter's Dural to Mortal Kombat's Shang Tsung.

Website IGN has the announcement videos for both Akuma and Taskmaster, and their official acknowledgement further validates the leaked roster list from last year. The leaked list is below and the only characters not yet confirmed from it are Sentinel, Hsien-ko and end boss Galactus.

The game is due out on 18th February on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

I gotta be honest and say, I don't know half of these characters. I know a few Capcom characters and a few Marvel, but... the rest is just... who?

I did have a dream that Vergil and Nero was added, but i think it may remain just that... a dream. (DLC for me is a dream too)

They would add Lady before Vergil (and him before Nero) via DLC I'll bet, mostly due to gameplay diversity.

I looked up the characters after their reveal if I didn't know who they were. Didn't know Dormammu but he's quite a favorite of mine now ^^

In all honesty, I really like Hsien-ko but wish there was another Capcom character in her spot. Oh well.
Can't wait for the DLC characters, haha.
