New 1.1GB patch on Steam

It could be the one they released for PS3 and Xbox where it fixed the style meter and seemed to tidy the cutscenes for PS3?

fixed the style meter? What was wrong with it?
The style ranking didn't go down when you weren't fighting.
Now if you're not attacking, the style rank will go down. It was making the game too easy to get top style points because the meter would stay at SSS when not attacking.

Style decreases correctly for me, and will go down automatically from SSS to SS and from SS to S, and it will not decrease further (as in other DMC games).

Decreasing within a single Style rank happened perfectly for me from release, and from SSS to S correctly since the first or second patch.

Am I missing something?

If you were surrounded by enemies, built up a rank to SSS and then stopped fighting, the rank would not go down. After the patch, the rank went down.

But if you don't have that problem, then I'm not sure what is in this new patch.

hmm, we got the style patch long time ago, before console users, but maybe they addressed the bloody palace bugs (music stopping, game occasionally crashing on mundus in bloody palace) and other style tweaks such as points for jump cancelling arbitrer drop in the air. I also hope they fixed Vergil's upper slash attack.

Well its not the arbitrer drop thing. So I wonder what it is.

Speaking of Arbiter, in Patch #2 SUPPOSEDLY they had made it so that the Arbiter gave you style points (and did damage) when JC'd in the air. Seriously, it's in the patch notes.

It never worked for me. Does it work for any of you fellows?

Nope, we never got that particular fix for arbitrer (only console users did, and I have no idea why, it makes me really sad that this patch didn't add that fix in also), but this patch seems to have addressed several issues with Bloody Palace, I can confirm it, because now the Hunter fight has music. Before this patch it was always without music. Its a fix for bloody palace only.

Perhaps we should complain a little bit over at the DmC: Devil May Cry, Ninja Theory and Capcom twitters that the arbiter issue wasn't solved?

Man, I've sent a list of all the bugs in a neat friendly list to Gregman at capcom, and he did reply to me that he'd relay them over, maybe thats what got these bloody place issues fixed. But its a good thing that the PC port is generally excellent, because capcom has zero PC support there isn't even a damn message board to post issues at.

But yeah, if you make a post, I'll definitely chime in to back you up. Just link it whenever you make some noise for it.

To your question: yes, but maybe you should PM him, and I guess I will again also. I know he can't do much, but maybe if more than just me tells him that people on PC want that game mechanic also, he might be able to be more persuasive in relaying the information to whomever it goes to.

Yeah, tell him we really want the Arbiter drop fixed. However, there's a few other things I never really saw in our version: For instance, apparently using an attack and changing modes at the same time should apply the mode to that attack (effectively allowing you to use Rebellion on Demon enemies for instance), but on PC I haven't been able to ever pull that off.

Were Demon Dodge nerfed and weakest enemy damages buffed on PC?

I received the patch too. I'm curious about what was resolved.
I have noticed a slight difference in the shadow effects, they seemed less patched at parts, which is good.

I think we got the SSS ranking and demon dodge nerf for sure. Because we got those fixes before everyone else, but for some reason the Arbiter drop was decided afterwards, and I still don't understand why they haven't implemented it on PC, I mean they've patched us twice and would have swore it would be on this patch, but now who knows when we'll get another patch.

Can you get on contacting Gregaman again for this issue, then?

It might also help to link to this page, to show that this isn't just an isolated issue.

EDIT: I have also PMed Gregaman myself, but it might help if he gets at least a couple of requests to bring attention and speed things along.

I PMed him also, he'll respond, I mean he's just a community guy, he can only do so much, but maybe if he has some evidence that a large number of pc users want this, they'll address it, we should also probably add Vergil's upper slash attack being broken since they both relate to combat animations.
