No.

I would like to know more about this new Dante, he seems kinda refreshing when compared to old Dante....also the location of the game and plot seems to be darker and this suits me better.

^^ This.

I think since none of the Dante characters have been truly consistent, I think that this Dante will shape up through character development and eventually become the official Dante when he's done with his training about maybe 70% through the game.

I don't think he'll become a master devil hunter only at the end, just only in the final half. People will want time to use all of their recently developed skills.

I think I'd feel the same about it as I do now. I still vouch that this will be an awesome game, so yeah, I'd probably like it. I've watched the trailer over 100 times (no exaggeration) so if he said 'my name is Nero', I probably would have watched it again. And still slapped people around for doubting NT's capabilities.

No, I would actually like it less then. To me, Nero is just a Dante clone... Dante is the main protagonist of the game franchise, and if they want to introduce someone else as a new protagonist, the character shouldn't play and look exactly like the former! That's just lazy design and lack of inspiration... which is exactly what Nero is.

I can't help but shake the assumption that most people who say that about Nero would have been quick to moan just as much if he didn't look or act anything like Dante. They only did it to soften the blow for Dante fans so they wouldn't moan about him being too undevilmaycry'y..

"this is devil may cry not emo bi*th may take everything way too seriously. He is nowhere near as cool as Dante, Capcom didn't even make an effort to try and make him cool" they would shout.

Even if it was nero, i would be be doubtful of NT's capabilities.
But that's just me. I'm kinda glad that it is Dante, i prefer playing as Dante, and not Nero.

My problem with Nero is his looks and gameplay, not his attitude or personality. I liked playing DMC4, but I would have preferred if Dante was the main protagonist. I know, Capcom had a meaning with making Nero look like Dante, hinting they have a common background, however, the hints were simply too obvious. Nero looks like a teen Dante instead of being an individual design and THAT's what I have a problem with. The hairstyle, the longcoat, the sword, the gun... There's nothing unique about Nero at all. As said, it is just lazy, second-rate design in my opinion...

I love how the new Dante looks like, though. And I like the fact that it is Dante, not Nero.

I would actually prefer it as New Dante.

I really don't care if he's a reboot or the original Dante just in kid form. I'm waiting (impatiently) for this game ^^

Actually I might prefer him as Nero since he reminds me of Nero more than Dante .
Plus him being revealed as nero might have been because we dont really a Dante Clone.

since the new Dante doesn't have the Devil Bringer it is better that he is Dante. Nero without the Devil Bringer would be just a Dante clone with better luck with women.

I wouldn't even want them to do this to Nero. NT design male characters badly. I would still have no hope for this game. Being on UE3 doesn't bother me, even the weapon cooldown don't bother me, and I'm sure I can get used to the ****ty morphing sword, but Dino is pretty much the worst design for a male video game character I've ever seen in life. I can't play with ****ty looking characters...don't care how they shape his story or what voice actor they give him, I will never like this game until they change Dante's appearance to anything other than what it is now. Make him a female for all I care, make him black (I actually wish this would happen), anything but keep his current ****ty design.

If NT got their hands on Nero they would make him worse than Dino somehow. When they are done with him they would make him look like a cross between Dino and Kuja from Final Fantasy IX.

I would react about the same I think. But it would at least mean that the real Dante could show up if it was Nero who had been shafted.

Actually I prefer Nero... I don't really enjoy playing as Dante... that might be because of my first time I played Devil may cry 4 and as Nero! :P
it'll be funny if at the end of DMC u find out it really is nero and not dante,

Noway!! O_o
