Need help in keys

Playing dmc devil may cry on pc. Basically what happened is that my escape key won't work, and that is why I can't access any menus or exit them. Any way to rebind my escape key to another key, say, F12.
I tried rebinding it using softwar like smartkey and stuff, but it won't work in-game. So any way, like editing configs or anything would help.
(P.S. Don't go on suggesting me to buy a new keyboard, spent a month's pocket money on dmc)

In what way is your escape key broken? Has it actually come off the keyboard? Or will it just not respond?

If the key has come off, it's quite easy to buy a new one and then fix it to the keyboard.

Failing that, maybe here has something that could be useful. It has some different ways to rebind a key.

Okay guyz I tried sme googling and stuff. Now I just rebinded it using auto hot key. Thanks for your help.
