My thoughts on DmC

I agree with most of that. I actually enjoyed the demon and angel specific enemies, and the demon and angel specific immunity on the American Got Talent parody stage. I agree with the bosses. I think Barbas and Vergil were probably the best, the former was certainly the most creative. And while I did enjoy Dante and Vergil fighting Mundus, his overall presence was kind of underwhelming. Although, it was fun as hell being low on life and coming out on top anyway.

I liked the narrative with Kat. I can see why some of you found them slow, though. I enjoyed their interactions and like my story in my games so it wasn't that much of an inconvenience for me.

i didn't have much trouble with hollow vergil on hell on hell

i just use perfect charged volcano on him then he fly's into the air and i killer bee jump cancel the **** out of him
there's nothing he can do until hes health is low enough to trigger the next faze of the fight then
the i just doge the swords and repeat

The points where you're following Kat aren't that bad. From a narrative standpoint the segments are great, one was to help you memorize the layout of the factory and notice specific landmarks to find your way back, and the other was to add tension to a scene.

The problem with that is that Devil May Cry has diluted to its purest form of "do cool sh!t, kill demons" and so anything that deviates from that makes the player, myself included, go "C'maaaawwwwwn I wanna hit stuuuuuuuuff~!" :p

I never got much trouble with hollow vergil at all to be honest?

Like, I don't think I ever lost to him. Sure I got quite some damage in most early runs, but I always end up winning without having to run around to gain time and such "desperate" tatics. Maybe I just play better with Vergil than with Dante, maybe is the presentation of the battle that gets me really pumped (DAT RAIN) and makes me play better.

Well, if you got any tips on how to defeat him on Hell and Hell, I still don't have my achievement. :)

Hah. I'm not a "no damage" player at all. I never got past the second stage in that difficulty. If I do pick up DmC again anytime soon and beat it though, it'll be a pleasure to share tips.

I actually like 2 more than 4.

The fourth entry is in dead last when it comes to my own personal tastes.

I guess I could PM you why this weekend, maybe. Just to explain further, I mean.

How awesome would it be.....

prepare yourselves....

If you could play the story of each DMC game with all the Dantes, Vergil, and Nero?

Vergil in DMC 1? Wtf! LET'S GOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kick those shadow dogs a**es!
DMC 3 Dante in DMC 4? Hell yeah!

Side note! Destiny is awesome!

No, it's not.

Um, but enough off-topic: Yes, I would like to play as Vergil and DMC3 Dante in DMC4. Also, I have nothing against Destiny, but it just really didn't do anything for me.

Anyway, DMC3 Dante in every game ftw and all that.

4's in dead last for me too.

At least with 2 they tried something else, and it didn't work out.

With 4, they just knowingly got really damn lazy and didn't care. I don't excuse it especially when it's right off the heels of the game that reinvigorated the franchise and was like the redemption after DMC 2. How they hell do you take a step forward and just go back like that?

Just because I know someone's gonna say it;

"DmC isn't any better. It took many steps back."

I've never bothered to find a legit source for this, but the game was supposedly only 40% complete due to time constraints and Capcom wanting to rush out with an action game on next-gen consoles before the competition, if you're willing to believe that.

It does sound like some BS that a dev would say when fans aren't happy with a product but, looking at certain aspects of the game, I truly believe it was severely incomplete. For instance, it's incredibly strange that Dante has twice (or or less, it's been a while for me) as many moves and many more weapons than Nero, but only half as many missions.

That doesn't make the game any better, of course, but I don't think it should be seen as a shortcoming on the developers part.
