Okay, so I've been thinking about V, and what his connection is to everything. But I do have an idea, I'm not sure of the specifics, but this is my idea. If you haven't watched, or plan to watch the final trailer, be warned, cause I'm gonna mention it.
So, I got a hunch, I think V, is Vergil's human half. I don't know how, but I think Vergil, probably intentionally, split his human and demon sides apart into two beings. His human half being V (My reasons being superficial really, basically since V is linked to Griffon, Shadow, and Nightmare, Vergil likely knew them when he was Nelo Angelo, and he naturally has white hair. Again it's superficial). Also, V's own trailer seems to show he may have a grudge against Dante, also he apparently is running out of time or decaying in some way
Meanwhile, his demon half became Urizen (Basing this, cause we can see some slight similarities between Urizen's face and Vergil's demon form)
I think at the end, the two halves fuse back together and reform Vergil.
