I believe its as simple as that... no hidden meanings or twists this game could easily be a prequel dating before all the games telling the story of how Dante became dante... while he switched from anthony to dante and before the rebellion sword IF you look closely the "Dante" character's hair gets died white or turns white as the trailer progresses SO this could very well be the meaning of the game: following Dante through his bath to....badassery...? MAYBE?

Just joking. Although this question is asked frequently but the answer is no, it is no prequel, it is a reboot showing how a prequel would be. That means everything that will happen after the reboot is different but maybe similar to the DMC series.

Wait... so it's officially not a prequel!? But it seems like everyone last week was stating that it was!?

Aggh, this is so confusing. I've talked with a few users who are more in-tune with the news/reports asking if this is a prequel or a reboot/preboot. Some are saying it's a direct prequel, while others are saying it's a reboot/preboot in another AU. No matter who I ask, it's always a mixed bag of responses.

I think I'll just wait until we get more direct info from NT or Capcom in concerns to this...lol

I'd prefer to see Dante's son in a game than some punk who seems to be the real Dante but has nothing in common with him.Even the hair are awfull.He looks like an emo kid.
