Why not ?? it fits perfectly !

EDIT : Also in the anime there are many instances shown where a human being is possessed by a demon and then converted into a complete demon so why can't it happen with nero ?

in game answer is he had to get retrained by his mentors as after 1 he got lazy.

so after the anime he visited his teachers and they were dissapointed at his lack of training, so they forced him to do his training all over again.

i think we are talking about two different things man.

nero was meant to be vergil's kid but the development team got scared and left it ambigiuos.
