It's hard to think of Dante with anyone canon, because with every game there's nearly been a different female lead [with the acception of DMC4 where Trish and Lady came back] For me, I see Dante eventually ending up with Trish in this version, but I wouldn't say know to him getting close to Kat, even if she ended up dying or they never really hooked up. Even that, if Lady reminded him of Kat and that was something that being a reason for wanting to help her out even if she hated him for not being human or thinking he killed innocent people [remember, his name never got cleared.]
It would definitely be something I'd like to see. From Dante being around someone that did want to be his teamate, to someone like Lady who would tried to kill him and refuse his help. It would be interesting chemistry.

Now that I think about it, if ever DmC2 comes out, there is the possibility that Kat will be replaced by another female lead. And maybe this hypotetical girl would not be neither a reeboted Lady, nor a rebooted Trish, nor a rebooted Lucia...:|
As for him getting with Kat, it is a strong possibility *chokes while having to admit this*.
But it is also possible that they simply develop a very close friendship, or a brother-sister relationship. As you (if I remember correctly... or was it Loopy? Sorry, my memory fails me sometimes
) already said in another thread, it is not a necessary rule that the protagonist and the female lead will get romantically involved in the end.And now you suggested me the amazing idea of Dante meeting a rebooted Lady who wants to take vengeance on him, because she deems him responsible for killing her mother. In truth, it was Arkham (who may be a full demon this time) who killed Kalina Ann, but since he worked with Barbas, it was easy for him to shift the blame on Dante...
Dante and Lady fight, and then, when she realizes the truth, like the most clichè romences, they fall in love.... or if you don't want them to fall in love, they remain friends...
Now that I think about it, though, maybe Dante simply isn't one for getting into a stable relationship...

Funny enough I always find Kat a mix of Trish/Lady, since I see the Reboot as a version of all 4 games in one. If Trish in the reboot look like that blonde biker in concept art, she would be very cool. As for Lady I dunno , but I saw some nice fanart of a reboot Lady.

I'm just some guy who really like Devil May Cry
im going with lady because id love to see her redone by NT. she is a very complex character and kicks a lot of ass. she has a lot of character development throughout DMC3 being motivated by revenge the entire time and a burning hatred for all things demon. i realise the whole evil daddy was touched upon in DmC by Kat but saying it isnt near as effective as showing it. So yh, i go for lady.
now from a romantic point of veiw id also go with lady. i dont see Kat and Dante working out as a couple. i mean they work well as friends but Dante is incredibly hot headed and rash where as Kat is too naive. itd just end up with one constantly worrying about the other. but i see a lady and Dante working as she like Dante is hot headed and passionate but has at her core is serious and mature. i see this as an excelent balance for Dante
and god knows what sort of abomination their child will be. (descended from all three realms=awesome)

In this I strongly agree with you.As a Psychology student, I've studied the Oedipus Complex quite deeply and its even worst than it seems.Our professor told us it was a true simulation of incest and that, in his opinion, he find difficult to believe that a guy ( or a girl, for that matter) is being truthful when he says his lover is not even similar to his mother.
But if Trish in the reboot is not a copy of his mother, I don't see why they shouldn't be together. ( if they want to, of course)^_^.

And from reading that, now I want to ship Dante and Lady XD You're right though, they do have more of that thing going for them that you might see in a couple. Plus if you think about it Dante could relate to her need to take revenge on her mother like he did for his own mom.
And a baby from all three realms.Their baby would be so awesome, they'd call it Awesome :lol: and maybe Epic for a girl.

what if lady is introduced in the sequel and there is a romantic conflict between lady and kat because kat is jealous of lady. in the middle kat almost dies or actually dies while sacrificing herself to save lady and lady and dante work as a team to take down vergil and arkham if arkham is in the game. and later on they establish a working relationship where lady brings dante missions and dante works as a hitman and his password is devil may cry

I personally think if there is a sequel, Kat will return as the sister type character, who helps Dante set up his new shop and judges him when he gets too careless or screws around too much with the ladies.
If Dante and Kat had a kid he'd probably bring up the name Catnip or Fluffy, any cat pun he could throw in there to tease Kat :lol:
