Just received Virgils Downfall code!

Okay, and to clarify, we're not talking about the Gamestop code printed on your receipt, but rather an actual redeem token that worked on your console when you entered it?

I guess to clarify my situation...

- I preordered DmC from GameStop in North America
- I received my receipt with an 11-digit code to be redeemed at devilmaycry.com/vergil
- I input the 11-digit code on the website when I got home, along with my email address, as requested by the site
- I have not received anything further since then, no email confirmations, notifications, or codes

Okay here's the scoop: When you pre-ordered the game from Gamestop (North America), you should have received an 11-digit code. For the purposes of this post, I will call that the "Gamestop code." There should have also been a URL: www.devilmaycry.com/vergil.

If you've visited this URL, you'll note that it only contained a field to enter your email address. This was to place you on a reminder mailing list so that you'd be notified by email when the content becomes available. When the content does become available, in addition to receiving that reminder email, you'll discover that that website has been updated to include a field to enter your Gamestop code. This will in turn spit out an actual redeem token (a code you enter on PSN or XBL for the content). I believe this will happen via email.

The site will not be updated prior to Sony and Microsoft updating their stores, as this would create even more confusion when people start getting their redeem tokens but they don't actually work. Hence, we are expecting that this will all go down around 5pm PT this evening, when the stores are updated.

I will keep everybody posted when there are new developments. For the time being--courage. My deepest apologies for the confusion. D:

::EDIT:: Addendum! The aforementioned website www.devilmaycry.com/vergil did originally have a field to enter that Gamestop code, but it was removed since it was deemed superfluous until the content actually launches. You'll probably have to enter it again when the site updates this evening.

IF by chance you happen to have entered that Gamestop code before they removed the field, then promptly tossed your receipt, please shoot me a PM here or on Capcom Unity and I'll see what I can do to help you out.

Hrm, but what about me then...?

When I went to the www.devilmaycry.com/vergil the day DmC released, it had the field for both my email and the GameStop Code. It gave me the green "okay" text that it accepted it. Is it possible that my code may have been taken and I won't get one once those redeem tokens start going out?

Curiouser and curiouser ヽ(゚Д゚)ノ

Please see my post edit above.

Gotcha. I've still got my receipt in the box for DmC, so no worries there. I guess I'm concerned that the code I put in will have been accepted, so it would be invalid when I can actually put it in.

Just covering all my bases, but I'll be sure to let you know if anything gets jiggered n.n

Thanks for all the help, Gregaman. An' I'm still waiting on the skin of you in DmC so I can slay demons with the Beard Trigger!

Yeah, if the code you have no longer works, come see me.

As for the Gregaman skin, as amazing as that would be, I'm afraid I can't officially comment on anything you might or might not request on the devilmaycry.org DmC mods forum ;)

That's right to the second right? right? so right at 5 right? I CANNOT REFRESH IT ENOUGH RAWRRRR

Greg, have you had a chance to play through Vergil's Downfall yet? If so, what do you think of Big V's combat compared to Dante's? I actually really enjoyed it, it was a great feeling having to learn again as Vergil plays totally different. He's so fast!
