after playing through the game i just wanna know what happened in the trade mission to me it was like im dante i control time but im not gonna use to fight that god demon because id much rather have my brother and myself almost die:troll:

seriously what happened?

Dante can control Limbo through his demonic power so he managed to slow down their car quicksilver style.
Actually, the only time Dante can use quicksilver powers is during his DT, which he didn't use in that cutscene. Hell, even Dante looked surprised when the time slowed down.

It's never mentioned again in the game what actually happened.

I think it's because time goes....slower.....in.......Limbo.....? Dante was in Limbo manipulating the real world, clearly. But up to this point, time flows the same in both Limbo AND the real world. Who knows, probably just one of those plot telling devices that is used once and never used again, try not to thank too much on it haha.

Far as I can see, they were all in Limbo, seemed like Mundus had hit the "merge" switch on the city at that point.

The way I understood that was Mundus was just destroying the city out of rage, while Dante was in Limbo manipulating the real world.

Around 6:03, you see this wave go across the screen which is meant to show the transition from the real world where Vergil and Kat are - to Limbo where Dante is. That's how I took it anyway.

The "merge" switch wasn't engaged until Vergil destroyed the Hellgate, which resulted in Limbo collapsing into the real world.

No, if you go through that sequence again, everything, including things from Kat and Vergil's PoV in the car, was in the Limbo world, and neither they nor Dante appeared to be phased out to the other. So yeah, Mundus created a limited merged. The hell gate collapsing cause Limbo to crash all over the world, not just in the City

I see, that makes sense too. I made an edit to my original post above that shows what I believed to be the transition from the real world to Limbo. But yeah, your idea makes sense as well.

from what i can understand Dantes DT in cutscenes (and to a more limited extent in game) has the power to stop ANY and EVERYTHING in limbo until something moves. or at least i could later on in the game after dante had the chance to work out the kinks of his DT on 3-4 diffrent bosses
