Is this new DmC a spinoff to dmc 3

Oh no, this is the Capcom forums all over again. :(
It doesn't matter if it is a reboot or whatever the definition is, just that it doesn't sound like it is directly tied to the 4 other Devil May Cry games. Please don't fight about what the correct definition is, because it is simply just dreadful and will only turn into a flamewar.
 
most reboots take place in a different universe as most reboots tend to be timeline based or slight/massive contuinty shifts so its still a reboot.
 
Honestly i don't take reboots seriously. Because Hollywood movie producers aren't parallel universe researchers, and neither is Capcom or Ninja theory. And everyone knows Hollywood is about earning money. Same thing with reboots, game producers stick to the same because it works for them to earn cash.

Reboots are just a excuse for not being able to make something new.

Or he's trolling. That's still quite the possibility, imo. Notice how he haven't answered any of the responses in this thread.
 
I believe this thread pretty much fullfilled its purpose. A question/confirmation was asked and answers were provided, therefore *locks*
