Is it just me or?

Judgement

I have prided myself on beating DmD on this game without the need of demon dodge or DT. Honestly I did whatever I could up til SoS mode to win but after that I said forget items forget DT and forget demon dodge I want to beat DmD without any of that nonsense. It was much more difficult than I ever expected but it was more fun that I ever could anticipate as well. If I died I went back to the beginning of the mission too, I didn't want any other help from the game. I did keep the upgrades and what not that that was it.

So I don't expect everyone to be like me but did anyone else forsake DT or Demon Dodge or both in any difficulties because of the OPness? The bosses were so stupid easy with both of those, some of the higher level demons in DmD were more of a challenge and worth the DT and Demon Dodge buff but even then  Items are a toss up. They make and break the game even more than the buff and DT but I gave up on those too, even so I'm still more interested in the other two game breaking features in this game

Pc gets fixed tomorrow Im going to play HaH without DT :P but no man I feel the same way lol

Ranked 900 on leaderboards for beating vergil on DMD T__T so good job man

Good luck man! I did Hell and Hell without Items or DT too. Are you saying you are ranked 900 on leaderboards or? I have no idea what rank I am at right now haha. Every time I go to check it never loads.

I use items, but I haven't even bought Demon Dodge or any Arbiter upgrades.

Good for you for man. Demon dodge is definitely an awesome skill to use but I just didn't want to use it is all for the harder difficulties to give me the best challenge. I do suggest to upgrade Arbiter though, it is so strong but so slow so you shouldn't feel too OP using it fully upgraded unless you can jump cancel it which is kinda hard in my opinion.

I beat Nephelim, SoS, and even DMD without items. I think I've used a total of 4 items through my entire play. I did use the DT but mostly for the bosses. I found SoS harder than DMD mostly because the difficulty jump took time to adjust, but aside from more health and DT I didn't see any difference between SoS and DMC in terms of difficulty.

Well for PS3 its like 2000 and below for rank and im 900 for the vergil on DMD on psn just press triangle to switch from ME to All idk why they think you want to see your rank against no one elses first

I didn't use demon dodge at all because for some reason it's too slow and unresponsive:/ As for DT, sometimes I forgot it existed, so I didn't use it much at all. It's easier to take out enemies without it.
I did use a buttload of items for Hell or Hell mode though during the Vergil fight.>_<

For me, Vergil fight on Hell and Hell was easy!..
because I kept demon dodging and angel lifting/demon pulling.
psst..when he starts flinging his Frisbees at you on the ground, just jump and angel glide to him, then Rake him with the Osiris and beat him up :3

DT tends to be that "OH F***!" emergency kick in when I'm having trouble or being Zerged by lots of enemies on SoS or higher. Demon Dodge is one of those "WHOO!" kicks when you get a good last second dodge when getting charged at by a Tyrant and taking it down ASAP.

Hah, I never buy or use items, except for the health/DT upgrades (and to get that stupid 'spend a ton of money' trophy). I actually forget about DT most of the time, since it's most fun when it's full and you're in a room full of baddies. Sometimes I use it as a move of desperation, but that's fairly rare. I think it would be fun to go without it.

Demon dodge on the other hand feels more like a fair way to get some extra damage, though. It's like a penalty for the demon being so stupid. But again, I don't really use it as often as I could- many missions go by without a single demon dodge on my end.

I usually only do those kinds of crazy challenges the second time through. I remember when I beat DMC 3 Vergil with nothing but the shotgun and gunslinger... now that was special. I guess that's one thing that's truly impossible to do in this game.

I'm so glad there are other similar to me in any which way. The way I see it is:

*Items can be farmed through repeating easy secret missions or anything at that. I did do this in DmC though but I have barely even used 2k of the 150k orbs I have farmed hehe..
*DT in DmC can be seen as a small boost in power and a huge boost in health like a small health star. Is it just me or does Dt in this game recover much more health than the others?
*Demon Dodge from me perspective gives more damage than DT without the annoying knock up into the air and you can stack it twice as far as I know? Can you even stack it more than 2 times?

I am actually going to replay all of DmD mode sometime today with the use of DT and 1 item per mission. Like I said DT stars can give full or half DT and also acts like a small health recovery. So if you look at it like I do and only want to use a limited amount of items why bother use the small health stars if you use a DT star:blink:

Edit: Sorry when I say star I mean the items which recover health or DT not the one that increases the max amount of hp or dt your bars have. I have been living in Japan for so long my English has gotten rusty or i'm just being lazy haha

... hell dude, wish i could farm that many that quick...

I have noticed it does, but in SoS and higher, this is a godsend because of how much damage one hit can do in those difficulties. It's an experient for NT, and it may be OP, but GOD it makes you feel powerful.

...that ****er stacks?!

Apparently, I've been playing this game way too much. The amount of red orbs is enough to make me cry- I keep wacking those sacks open even though I'll never need 'em. Of course, anyone who's unlocked all the game artwork and trophies probably knows what I'm talking about.

Truth be told using DT in every action game after onimusha was always that let me do this for extra dmg or because im dying thing. Hell DMC 1 you only taunted really to fill the DT meter. GOW, Dantes Inferno, and so on. This one it may take longer to fill but it makes it much more worth in the long run and quite honestly makes me feel more powerful. DMC 4 made it just like stupid for Nero Especially when it came to bosses and him dealing more dmg to them with his devil bringer.

Though I wouldnt recommend using it on dream-weavers if you only have a small amount of DT...

oh right Demon Dodge + DT + well timing = poison dead in 2 hits lol.
