IGN DmC - Studio Video Preview (Yes.. more footage...)

Every small bit of new info on the story they show just intrigues me soooo much more! I have a feeling this story is going to be really interesting and by the end of the game the player will feel deep emotion.

So the "tatoo" was his family emblem. And "rebellion" is basically just the hilt.
And I like the images of the brothers childhood. More better than just voices in the original series.
01:43 DA FAK?...What the hell happened to the pier! It's totally destroyed...

I also find the fact sad that Dante does know he won't last long...I hope he will.

Some nice insight, but not too much we didn't already know. It does add a new layer to Dante's personality, too, living with the belief that he won't be around for long.

This also sorta confirms my suspicions about that Home Truths video. It really seemed like Dante lines were supposed to be one side of a conversation, and the other side was left out to not spoil too much. Since Kat and Vergil are also there in the mansion, I'd imagine that Dante is getting a bit more guidance than the Home Truths video lets on.

Dante's facial expressions...are just pure epic!

I see so much emotion happening with this game. So far, we've seen his cocky attitude from a load of trailers. Its not really fun only seeing the rough side all the time. But when I saw him gripping his pendant during the first few seconds of this preview, I knew this game is going to be one wild ride of identity, emotion, and story.

Finally get a bit of the somber side of the story here. It's nice to have confirmation of what I thought the characterization was going for, Dante believes he's a lost cause, so he consumes and parties, irrationally solves his disputes with a sword (mostly towards demons). This is the turning point of all of that. A fresh start.
Spoiler: For Vergil, it will be the opposite case with more chaos and what Dante feels he didn't have (humanity) he will lose it.

I'm hype.

This game is gonna be epic. The graphics, storytelling, and gameplay all point in that direction.

Sure, people can say that games always get glowing previews, but not like this. REORC, NG3, and even RE6 all got questionable coverage. They weren't praised like this.

"Fans" may trash it, but it's gonna shine critically.

I know right? I wish they could've shown a little more of that to begin with. I didn't dislike all the cockiness to begin with but I was beginning to think NT was missing the point of making Dante more "western movie like." Which reminds me, if anything, Joseph Gordon Levitt should be casted as Dante in a western DmC film xD

Seriously, I can't wait anymore, lol.

Very nice seeing more about Dante's past, including the complete family together. It's better than just voices ( used in DMC 1).

So Dante thinks he won't live for a long time. That's good because it adds impact, when the hero himself doesn't know his future. It's much better than the "Oh, I'm the man who knows everything and doesn't care about anything" from DMC 4...:)

Did anyone like this shot?

It's like Vergil represents the darkness, Kat represents the light and Dante's sort of caught inbetween within the shadows on where he might end up.

Or if you want to get Star Wars about it. Vergil's Darth Vader, Kat's Princess Leia and Dante's Luke Skywalker...with the exception of a few trolls who consider him the spawn of Jar Jar Binks =__=.

I like his hat, too n.n One of the few people wearing a fedora who actually pulls it off, unlike every other jerk that wears one :p

White patch in the home truths mission (and it's larger than the one in the Bob Barbas/Nightclub one).... DAMMIT NT. AHHHH

EDIT: Do you think this is because it depends on how much you've upgraded his DT and not by the storyline? Each upgrade increases how much he has on... That would explain why it's all over the place.

That's just light reflecting off his head.

That's not a patch, that's a shine from the lights. The patch of white is always way more prominent.

Look where he's standing in that shot, though. There's a hole in the roof, and light's just pouring into it on the top of his head :p

The white patch so far has only ever been seen on the back right side of his head, and it's a lot brighter than the dirty gray in that shot.
