If there is a DmC 2 does that = better gameplay than DMC4?

I find it hilarious how people actually believe that DmC has better gameplay than DMC 4....the problem I see is that its too complex for the casual DMC player

*has beaten every DMC on every difficulty and S-ranked them along with finishing all the secret missions, still thinks that DmC has better gameplay*

Is this a problem to you?

I agree with this - as someone who has played the classic games to death I find DmC's combat to be the most fun of the entire franchise.

I gotta agree with Awake there. (For once)

DmC is a fun game to play in a lot of aspects for me, however it's not better then DMC4. Its close to surpassing DMC4, but just didn't give that extra pusher that DMC4's gameplay had.

Don't get me wrong, I'd play DmC any day over that horrendous DMC4, but I gotta get that crappy DMC4 game this; it had better gameplay.

But did it have more fun gameplay to you? I mean this in all sincerity and no sarcasm btw - I find 4's gameplay technical but it isn't enough for me to keep replaying it.

Well to me, DMC4 has a similar set up like DMC3 with Dante. With Nero it can get a bit awkward because I have to rely on the devil bringer.

With DmC, its a whole new monster thats still familiar to me as a DMC3 nut.

So yeah, I think DmC is more fun in my opinion. Not better then DMC4's gameplay, but fun eitherway.

The fun factor is all that really matters to me but I do see where you are coming from.

I think people define "fun" very different. Me personally, when it comes to DMC3/4, I have fun when I am being challenged and I have to learn new ways to deal with enemies and bosses. Learning Beowulfs and Nevans attack patterns were one of the most fun moments I had in DMC3 since I had to push myself further to actually defeat them.

The combat in DmC is pretty fun so far (played 4 missions so far) but it's not the same as DMC3/4 "fun". Despite playing on Nephilim, I don't feel challenged or threatened. I'll have to play on SoS and DMD before I give my final judgement though.

Btw, I'll take color coded enemies over that f*cking Blitz anytime of day. Nero could pretty much charge shot 3 and devil buster his ass all day long with no sweat, but the timing to hit that bastard with Dante was so annoying.

I would be very happy if both of them would just go away altogether though.

DmC already has better gameplay than DMC4.

I would prefer it if they made all games harder to be honest. I can't remember having ever played a game thinking "I wonder if I'll be able to complete this on it's hardest difficulty", so when I say DmC is easy, I really am pointing at just about every game out there.

Unless DmC2 doesn't cater too much to the casuals, probably. But I don't see this happening honestly.

DmC's combat system was heavily geared towards the casual players due to the fact it has really simplistic combos that easily lead into another. As well as this, you can stay in the air as long as you want. Just as long as you were continuously attacking the enemy in midair with ascending attacks and using Angel Lift.

DMC4 also had a lot of freeform technical gameplay. Stuff like this basically (The first clip with the Basilisks):

DMC4 Dante was also more grounded compared to DmC. You would only be able to stay in the air unless you mastered Jump Cancelling, which proved to be a hard thing to do if you weren't just spamming the same move over and over again. I personally thought that this was much more of a challenge since all of the enemies were mainly on the ground, where they were constantly attacking the player. In DmC, enemies are mainly on the ground. And with Dante's aerial moves, you could stay in the air very easily without JCing, giving you less of a challenge since only a few enemies would attack you in midair.

In my opinion, I find DmC to be better in terms of having a basic combat system to work with. DMC4/DMC3's combat system was "basic" but it didn't offer much if you were new into the series and didn't know much about how to string moves together. DmC teaches the player how to string moves together and also shows several examples within loading times. But when wanting to pull off technical combos that require a lot of skill, DmC sorta lacks this since it lowers the entry bar for new players. The main strength that DmC has within the combat system is using creativity, which is already a focal point of DMC combo system in general.
