Was this a thing? If so, seems kind of rude for the simple reason that he got butthurt over something here and wants to make a whole gameplay vid to show how mad he was.

Yep. It was a thing. Let him know if you really feel that strongly about it but ultimately it is his channel and he has the right to do anything with it he wants and ultimately it bares no real weight in the real world, it won't change anything. Why go look for things you are just going to aggravate yourself with?
