I think bottle of pain would be for mundus actually the slow seems to slow for vergil i think vergil's theme is gonne be VERY fast
I hope there's a long conversation between Dante and Vergil before they fight. None of that "I need more power" jargon. There needs to be a really good reason as to why these two, who had just worked together to defeat Mundus, would ever fight at all, even with the disagreement about Kat they had beforehand.

HO HO HO dante kills mundus, fights vergil and lets him live for reasons unknown, vergil becomes the new demon king and takes mundus child(nero) under his wing as his right hand man, while dante becomes a wanted fugitive
I never thought of that scenario because I know it wouldn't happen. But how awesome would it be if it did?? Vergil actually winning and then going after Dante?? That would be the best ending ever.
Edit: I know you said that Vergil would lose and that Dante would let him live, but, I think Vergil should win this time around. After all, it's based on reality, isn't it? Realistically, Vergil has trained a lot longer (formally, through paid teachers) than Dante did due to his money and connections. Vergil winning at the end would make the story so much better -- and it would surprise almost everyone. It would definitely surprise me, and I actually guessed that it might happen.

Nice theory Santa, but the baby part isn't possible, if you read the achievement post.
However, I'm pretty sure that Vergil won't die in that game. They won't risk killing him in the first DmC game. Eventually, Vergil is going to turn into a bigger fish to fry.
I also bet it won't be even a real or serious fight. Maybe Vergil just wants to know how strong Dante is, and after the fight scene, he'll give up and he'll vanish, while Dante and Kat ( if she survives) open Dante's office Devil May Cry.
It may be revealed that Vergil is working for someone else, who plains to conquer the world, but they need to get rid of Mundus. Now that Mundus is probably sealed ( I believe he won't be killed), the new villain can take over.
I see something like DMC 3, with a human helping Vergil to open something...

I agree with this. Vergil works very well story wise and as an adversary for Dante. I would go as far to say that if there is a trilogy of some sort Vergil may be the final boss of the third game in the ultimate fight for demon/angel control over the current world.

My problem with your idea is that I don't want this Dante to lose. The best scenario, to me, would be both living and working together. Of course that's not going to happen, but I can dream.
On topic, I'd rather not guess what's going to happen in the end.

Mundus Defeat will cause the collapse of Limbo City, and Vergil takes the opportunity to absorb whatever is left of Mundus' powers. This will cause Vergil Devil Blood to overlap his Angel side, becoming Full Devil Trigger. Dante feels betrayed and used. Vergil spews a bunch of bullshit about his true hatred towards humans, and he used them as pawns for his scheme. Dante sheds a single tear, for the lost of Kate, betrayal from his only flesh and blood in this world, and begins to have flash backs of him holding his mom in his arm as she died (kat is in his arms). This feeling of compassion towards something, triggers dante's Angel Trigger, and Devil Trigger. Ebony gains angelic shots, while Ivory gains Demonic shots. Rebellion transform in Sparda's sword. Hybrid Dante vs. Full Devil Vergil.

So what you're telling me is Vergil is going to turn into the awesome Vergil from DMC3 in GOD MODE? Too good to be true, then again, it goes well with Ninja Theory's way of spewing out plot twist.
