How I think Styles should come back in DmC2

I love DMC 3. Don't really dig Heavenly Sword but, this is totally not relevant to anything being discussed here. What's your point?

From what I know, the stance system originated in Heavenly Sword.
When you consider that earlier builds of this game had features that directly mirrored Heavenly Sword. It should come as no surprise that NT tried to stray away from the DMC formula into the Heavenly Sword formula.
Which pretty much is why they shouldn't have been in there in the first place

Yeah, **** it, I'm terrible at logic

If you actually played Heavenly Sword you'd know it's more of a God of War ripoff than anything when it comes to combat.

Apples and oranges man. Apples and oranges. DmC is still very much Devil May Cry.

Actually, adding what DMC 3 had onto the current movelist Dante has in DmC, would make for some great replay value and also the urge to master each one...ooo the mix ups!

We could alter which costume uses which style!
We could level up a certain style for the unlocked forms of every weapon!
The DTs for each style would change!
It's a nice way of introducing an Angel Trigger!
Wanna know what else would be super duper over 9000 cool?

CUSTOMIZABLE ATTACKS!

That's right! The catch is that you have to reach master of each style 1st.

Then everything is available for you to customize your own Dante moveset. You like Gunslinger and Swordmaster? Take your favorite moves from those and string them together for one of the longest most stylish combos in Devil May Cry history!

F*** it! Call it the Stylish System.

On a side note:

B****! I wanna be Fedora Vergil wielding Kablooey so when I sheath Yamato I can explode my enemies while looking fresh in my pimp suit!!

...........I just blew your mindz.

New topic of discussion!

Reward system and Stylish system for OP's set up!

I like the idea but it would probably completely break the game.

The thing that I hated about DmC's stance system is actually what caused me to dislike DMC4's style system
One of the things I liked about the styles in 3 was it had me choose my approach to the battle.
When all 4 styles are handed to me on a silver platter, After a while, I start to feel the challenge go away. So after a while of being untouchable with the evade while still having every move to fluently chain together.
It really starts to feel like I'm flat out whaling on the NPCS

No it wouldn't. Some games have done it before and some are doing it now like the recent Smash Bros.

It should be possible for next gen....errhhh current gen consoles.
I meant that it would have been really hard to balance for with fully fleshed out styles.

No it wouldn't. Plus this is a single player game who cares and from DMC4 to DmC its kind of already unbalanced in terms of the fact you destroy enemies and bosses in seconds if you're goof enough.

A customization system will basically be a mixture of DMC3 and Bayonetta mechanics.

True, but I can't help but feel for people like mmrandomlulz who didn't just like the older DMC's because of their in-depth combat but also because they were very challenging. Especially since I'm one of those people.

Honestly, the sad part is, I can't see it bringing back the challenge, ever since gaming became a mainstream thing. People are always complaining about certain games needing to be easier. Hell, look at Flappy Bird on iOS, grossed well, extremely popular, gameplay couldn't have worked any other way because of what it was trying to be, yet because it was "Too Hard", people complained to the point where it was taken OFF THE APP STORE.
With most modern games, it seems like the only thing keeping me attached would be the bajillion sidequests with useless rewards.

Although I would contest that DmC is legitimately hard on dmd mode(in my opinion). Not as the old games mind you, but hard enough that I need to constantly keep on the enemys with a mix of firearms and melee.
