as mentioned before, one thing ninja theory needs to fix in this game is dante smoking. i know it doesn't really affect the game, but it does affect his character and how people view his character. many people say dante is a gross little emo, and the fact that he smokes doesn't help.

But seriously, I don't see Dante smoking as a major thing. He's supposed to be a rebellious kid in this game, so smoking is part of the whole image. Smoking is bad, don't get me wrong, I don't find it attractive at all, but it is just not that big a deal to me.

Yeah, why would they? the only thing i've seen so far is a handful of attacks and not much else, and i think the combat just might work considering how capcom is working "so closely" with NT. They can fix it by giving us a story driven trailer

Capcom "working close with NT" is not assuring at all.
Considering the fact that they are just as much to blaim for all this negative backlash as NT is.
Not to mention the poor decisions they have been making as of late.
But the negative backlash is only from the community... Not from the game itself.
Meaning that there aren't necessarily anything wrong with the game, but the fans are judging it as it didn't reach their expectations. Consider this - the game could be beautiful graphicwise, have an awesome story, terrific gameplay and overall be a brilliant game, but because Dante in this game doesn't look like the old Dante, fans will keep being butthurt about it and will keep complaining.
That doesn't mean the quality of the game is bad, just that the fans are being... well... you choose a word that isn't offensive, because no matter what word I think of, it will have a great chance to offend someone. XD
