Help with the flying baby things

They are bar none the most annoying enemy in the demo. I'll be getting a good combo going and try to grapple them because I know they are a pain in the ass but oh wait, I grapple the ravager instead and then I get hit by them. Its starting to **** me off, just like I'll use a stinger with the stick facing a stygian and it will go for the hell night.

Anyone figure out an easy way to resolve this issue?

Welcome to the forums, bro.

And I know the feeling.
I always resolve to kill them before killing anything else.
I angel glide past the Ravagers, and then Demon Pull the babies toward me and just hit them with an Aerial Rave.

That's how I do it, anyway.

(i personally hate the harpies more) regardless one axe drop will insta kill them, anything can be done to interrupt their shots as well, (for example shooting them grappling them and so on) you can also angel dodge since u will cover more distance then they will be able to adjust their shots for. (for example if they shoot twice and u dodge left with angel dodge they wont be able to shoot u after your dodge is complete because u went so far right in my experience.)

I appreciate the replies, I didn't know the axe drop would instantly kill them. I was using angle dodge before to get away, but now that I mapped the demon style to LB to become more proficient at demon dodge I keep forgetting to use angle dodge. Haha

Why not try a multiple juggle kill with your charge shot?
It will make a additional bonus with each ricochet.

In the first area on SoS difficulty, clear the entire area and wait for the ChainsawGeezer to spawn. Use Angel Grab on the Babies to pull yourself towards them and then use Demon Jump to gain height. Then you can take care of THE BABBYS without grabbing the Chainsaw below.

At the fountain area (Starts with "Limbo: We can see you...") Instantly run to the right of the screen and demon grab from there and do any combo you want. The ChainsawGeezers won't attack you right away giving you time to lock on to the Babies.

Easy combos on them
Medium Difficulty(I forgot the name):
1) Demon Grab towards you > 3 swipes with Rebellion (Press attack 3 times)
2) Demon Grab towards you > 1 Demon attack will kill

SoS Difficulty:
1) Demon Grab them once to remove the sheild > Demon Grab them again to pull them towards you > 4 swipes from Rebellion (Press attack 4 times/full Aerial Rave)
2) Demon Grab towards you > Demon kick > Demon Grab > Demon kick > Demon Grab > Demon kick (Death).

In addition to what 8Bit said here's some other strats based on area:

First area: When the Chainsaw demon spawns try to be next to the barrier for that area; with the game camera facing the barrier (the barrier you need to destroy the demon eye to progress). The game will not spawn the Baby's off-camera, so while Dante is in the area beneath the demon eye/ledges only the Chainsaw demon will spawn. Keep him in this area and kill him, and when you move the camera/move to the centre of the first area the Baby's will then spawn.

Second Area with Fountain: As soon as the battle starts, jump and Angel dash straight forward. You will be past the first wave of ground grunts and will be very close to the Baby for a Demon Pull. Once the second wave starts two more will spawn with the Harpys (SoS difficulty), but these are unshielded so they shouldn't present a huge problem.

Third Area: Two (possibly three? I forget) will spawn with the Angel Knight on SoS. Best advice I can give you is pretty straight-forward, stay in the air and focus on the Baby that attacks you first. You can easilly target the correct one by pressing the stick in the direction of the one you want to attack. Unless they are literally next to each other the game will have no problem knowing which one you want.

Well the best way to stay untouched is to just stay mobile. Dante now can move a lot faster and cover a lot more distance and a lot of the times when you get behind an enemy, it interrupts their attack. Staying airborne is quite easy now for me, even gaining more height, so i would practice fighting in the air, and switching targets. Don't forget that enemies will attack off screen so you'll need to adjust the camera whenever possible.

Oh and some other stuff I forgot to mention. Only Nephilm Difficulty the Babies won't have a shield and will fire only ONE arrow at you. On SoS they will have a shield and fire TWO arrows at you.
To add to what Wallenb said, even if you can't see the enemies, they can see you. This is were sound is important. In DmC the enemies will let out a Battle Cry....thing so if you hear that you better move. Also, because the Babies announce their attacks by aiming (using a yellow line guide), you can see where it's coming from and where you should be dodging to.
I'm with majeh116 on this though. I hate the Harpies. Not easy to combo and have an annoying movement pattern. Plus you can't Demon Grab them unless they're spinning.
