okay so i beat dmc3 special edition in normal for ps2 version and i didnt get vergil!!!!!!!wtf happened!!!

You have to imput the cheat code at the main menu

If you didn't get Vergil it is high probable that instead of Special Edition, you've got Dante's Awakening.

Try loading a new game and choose vergil at the main screen.
Each character should have their own file.
