Guilty noob red orb question

Hi everyone,

Sorry if this is REEEEAALY dumb, but here goes:

Completely new to DMC series and starting with 4. I know you use proud souls to "buy" power ups and items and that collecting red orbs adds to your score after finishing missions.

Is there any other use or function for Red orbs?

Will I ever get to use the red orbs for anything? I'm at around 10,000. Or will my total just keep growing for no reason other than to look at it and think, "wow I have a crap ton of red orbs! SWEET!"

You use Red Orbs to buy items (Vital Stars, Holy Water, Blue/Purple/Yellow Orbs) and Proud Souls to buy new moves. In previous games, everything was bought with Red Orbs.

Proud Souls were instated as a new way to reward people for doing well in each mission, not merely for collecting and/or farming orbs. The Proud Souls are earned in direct proportion to your mission rank, although you can collect some based on style points without finishing a mission.

Blue/Purple orbs are for increasing your vitality and devil trigger gauge, so those are the best items for red orbs. but I think you can only buy 6 of each and the others you'll have to complete secret missions for.

also look up jump cancel and guard fly tut, so you can eventually master them with Dante. Makes the game way more fun. Happy devil hunting!

Thanks for the replies and tips. The nicholas cage ferry will visit you all in your sleep and leave copies of mediocre movies on VHS for EVERYONE!!!!
