As someone who enjoys the first person perspective in games and as the GTA series gun mechanics were always lacking im rather excited that they have now added a first person mode to the updated release version of GTA V. The level of detail they have gone into for this optional viewpoint is quite stunning I have to say...

Players will be able to switch between first and third-person perspectives on the fly, Rockstar said, with options to switch automatically in certain situations, such as taking cover. Players will also be able to choose between traditional GTA controls and pre-configured options that resemble a traditional first-person shooter control scheme. The first-person view will be available in both the single-player and the "GTA Online" multiplayer mode.

Rockstar is promising "hundreds of enhancements" for the new generation re-release of GTA V, among them "increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic... new wildlife, upgraded weather and damage effects... an extensive array of new Jobs, an arsenal of new weapons, scores of new vehicles, new properties and player customizations." PC players will also be able to enjoy the game in native 4K resolution when that version comes out on January 27, 2015.

GTA V comes to PS4 and Xbox One in two weeks, on November 18. The PC version is out in January. The 1st person mode is just one of "hundreds" of enhancements and improvements coming to the re-release, including 4K resolution on the PC.

That First-Person Mode looks Amazing IMO

But i can't help but notice that gut feeling that it will be fun to toy around with it for a while, before switching to 3rd Person mainly

But I would totally use it for cruising around the city in Bike tho C:

I would mainly use it for the shooting aspects and walking around, dont think I would use it for driving very much as it limits vision far too much. Impressive interiors inside the vehicles though with all those working dials and such, im impressed.

But still, First Person View looks really good, at least I am happy Rockstar is doing something others don't :3

Btw, we will be experiencing the cutscenes in first person perspective too ?

I would imagine the cutscenes remain the same as they were as they would have needed to be recreated to allow for this. The perspective can be switched in and out of on the fly however in game which is good & can set it to auto switch if you wish when entering vehicles, aiming weapons or taking cover.

Going to sell my last gen copy and repurchase the new one and do just that.

Liking the sound of all the improvements and new features too and really hope heists get sorted soon too. Barely touched the online it so would be nice to have a reason to play it with friends.

It seems my patience is being rewarded. Can't wait for January to finally play this badboy.

I still kinda think GTA V should have just been pushed to the newest consoles in the first place. Because everyone who had it already had to deal with its ridiculous BS and how THEY WERE STILL NO FREAKING HEIST.

Anyway, I find myself only picking this up for next gen on sales price once I get my PS4. My opinion on GTA V changed after I spent enough time with the game to realize how less than stellar it really is.

Now, I seem to only enjoy GTA V roleplaying with my friends in private sessions. Currently we're actually doing our own Walking Dead roleplay. So, basically I now only enjoy GTA V when I pretend it's something else.

Come one man, you can't tell me that's something to really get excited about? Basically, the only people I see actually spending time with the prostitutes or in strip clubs are prepubescent kids.
Well I'm mostly just happy about the massive "f**k you" this sends to feminists but I'm also happy developers are crossing more lines.

There's a fine line between a feminist and the extroverted sexist and idiotic feminazis you are probably referring to.

By definition, if you believe there should be equality for women, you're a feminist. I'm one.

This does make me think, how would people would react if gamers were also allowed to pick up male escorts for these first person experiences. Or magic mike going on in one of the strip clubs instead.

The only time I've picked up a prostitute in GTA was to get her to do the deed with my character in front of an oncoming train.

True, I am referring to those feminazis, sadly they've tainted the word feminist.

But I'm also glad this crosses the line too, when games cross the lines, they can be far better and unique experiences cause they'll do things that no other games will have the balls to do.

If the millions and millions of homophobic, racist and sexist 13 year old kids saw male hookers and/or even gay male characters walking the streets in GTA 5, they'd gun them down on sight.
