It's OK I figured it out. Though when you're on the world map stage where are you supposed to go?

Just after the bike chase where you have to meet the rest of your guys at some town. I know you have to go southwest to get to the town put I'm a little lost.

Happen to know the name of the town?

Actualy I have a question about the marshlands that's just beyond the choboo farm. Do you have to cross the marsh? I hope I don't have too as the snake thing keeps killing me. I'm sure FF8 and FF9 were easier then this.

If the town is called Kalm you have to head North East and not South West.

This is a hint from a walkthrough on ign:

Now equip someone with the Chocobo Lure Materia and leave the farm, now once
on the World Map you will notice some V shaped Chocobo tracks, well run
around the general area of these and eventually you should find a Chocobo
in a battle, as soon as you can, open the item menu and find your Gysahl
Greens or whatever you bought (it might help if you moved them to the top
of the item menu for easy access or set the ATB to "Wait" in config) and
give them to the Chocobo, this will distract it, now you can take out the
enemies with it, do not use any spells that hit all targets because the
Chocobo will run, also make sure it is still eating so it will not run by
replenishing it's greens, once the enemies are gone the Chocobo is caught!

You are now riding it, do not press X because you will get off and the
Chocobo will run, ride east across the marsh and the Midgar Zolom will not
attack you
(it seems it regenerates despite being killed) once on the other
side dismount and the Chocobo leaves.

Thanks dark. I hope I don't have to enter Midgar very much once you have gotten out of it.
