EDIT: christ they didn't bother replicating the pitch Poison has in the English version???? She's deep in some languages and then really high in others (like the spanish one) it's so jarring when they didn't even change the sfx for the fight.

Also the ending is beautiful.
 
I am french. (but as i'm fluent in english, I have my whole ps3 system in english, didn't know there was a french dub)

This is.... I think this is easily the worst adaptation I've ever heard.

First of all, they don't pronounce Dante the way we do, they say "Dant" D: what the **** is that.

I'm not even gonna talk about the translation...

But the voice actors gotta be the worst thing out of this version.

Just plain terrible.

BTW : They couldn't translate some things (**** you included) in the french version so they started making stuff up.
 
she sounds like a man for most of them then a little girl and wtf was that at the end some **** take XD
 
What the hell was up with the last one, it sounded like some badly voiced dub. Why were they calling it the english dub when it's not? o___o
 
Think they used Google translator for the last one? I know I've seen some really bad translations from it.
 
Is it stereotyping that I only knew the first one was German because Dante said "Mein" which I automatically associate with Hitler jokes/ Hitler reaction videos
 
I'm fluent in Spanish but good lord the accent is European so I just can't take it seriously when they start cussing. I'm pretty sure I could have come up with a more accurate and vile script...


I would have picked a different actress for Poison, too.

I never even thought of using that phrase to say **** you in Spanish, since there is no literal way of saying that to mean "screw off" or something along those lines. I mean even if it sounds really European, I don't think people in Spain would understand that phrase as **** you. More like... "that they beat you up." XD Or actually "mess you up" sounds more accurate.

Exactly. It would have been a more direct insult like

"Pendejo", "Cabron", "Huele mierda.", "Come pija/verga/polla"

In my home, the best comeback in the nature of this scene would have been "Vete pa'l carajo/mierda" Which would be the equivalent of "go f*** yourself" and Dante could have replied with "jodete" which sounds better than "que te jodan" and would better fit the short mouth flaps. They could have been more creative and gone with a more insinuating comeback like
"chupamelo" Referring to "suck my d***" as the last reply. Her scream afterwards would have meant that she got what he implied.

Eh, but I guess they are interchangeable. I just don't see why they sticked to the dialogue so literally when Japan isn't doing it, you know?

Right, "vete pa'l carajo/mierda" sounds much better... for this, not... you know what I mean! >_<

But yeah, it's weird since the game is being made by an European developer... you would guess their translations to these languages would be much more accurate and better sounding than Japanese ones :/ I would go as far as saying whomever translated this should get fired because he/she seems to have used google translator or something...
