Wow...there will be a lot of possibilities because of this Doppelganger tech, with this tech it might even surpass DMC3 Vergil in combat depth.

I wish there was a way to do normal attacks with the doppelganger though..oh well.
That got me thinking. There is the "glitch/exploit" in DmC which lets you store charge gun shots but also fire additional shots. So I was thinking maybe there is a way to store Overdrive so you can let go of attack with Vergil and take full control of the Doppelganger. It doubt it'd work but eh...it's DmC on the UE, it's gotta be glitch-able.

Okay so I've just tested this out and realized that you aren't even supposed to be able to do this, lol. For some reason if you perform Overdrive (Hold), you can control the Doppelganger as long as you're charging Overdrive simultaneously. If you either release it, perform an Angel Pull or Jump, it cancels the glitch. No other ability lets you do this except for Overdrive.

The playable Doppelganger is very limited though. If you have the Doppelganger set to either Up or Down on the Directional Pad the glitch doesn't work at all. If you have it set to Left the Doppelganger will be only able to perform Flare and Solar Flare. If you have it set to Right the Doppelganger will only be able to perform Atomic.

This glitch can only be activated while the Doppelganger is either set to Left (Angel Mode) or Right (Devil Mode) on the D-Pad first. I've found out that while controlling the Doppelganger, if you press Left or Right again (depending on what mode the Doppelganger was already set as), the Doppelganger turns all-black and you're still able to control it, but now you'll be able to perform and / or hold Upper Slash. Weird stuff. I'll definitely be adding this to my next tech video. Amazing find! I'll be sure to credit you when I make the video.

No problem. Just a bit more to add.

You are indeed limited to B attacks. However:
1) Vergil himself can also fire summoned swords(the video showcases that).
2) Not only that but while in DGC (Doppelganger-control...whatever you want to name it) you can also use Demon, Angel summoned swords. So while holding B, you can launch with BlackDGC, put Vergil into Demon Mode and bring the enemy back to you with summons sword (the very end move I use on the shield knight).
3) You can also use Summond Sword specials. So again, while holding Overdrive, you still have access to your sword specials (Like all 6 swords around Vergil, again in my video) or Shield Summon Swords etc.
4) You can also cancel overdrive as you would normally by teleporting or jumping(this also resets the Doppelganger next to Vergil and you lose control of it)
5) Lastly, you don't need to run over the enemy while in DGC. If the enemy is some distance away, the DG will always teleport to the enemy and act like a normal DG)

That's all I know so far. I didn't experiment super in-depth with this but it's just a bit of added info to help your future update.

This is pretty awesome, thanks for sharing. Now I could be wrong but isn't this actually a function that Vergil can use when you fight him as Dante? I remember him holding his Judgment Cut and having that stance while standing still and letting the DG attack you instead. So I don't think this is a glitch.

Nice. You know what, this whole "Doppelganger Control" glitch needs an entire in-depth video of it's own, lol. This would be like at least five minutes worth of explanation and demonstration.

That's when Vergil is at low health and you have to finish him off while in Devil Trigger. At this point, Vergil just lays hunched over on one knee holding his sword while his Doppelganger fights. The point of this part is for you to gain enough meter to activate your Devil Trigger if you don't have it yet. But when you try to attack the real Vergil during this state, your attacks just get deflected. I think that's what you mean.

Why you people keep calling judgement cut Overdrive? It's so confusing, god danggit.

Apologies on my part. I...actually don't know the names of the moves. Fighting Game habit. Anything that's an uppercut is a Dragon Punch D:
I'll put annotations over the video for the correct terms, sorry.

Don't get me wrong, I was talking about people all over the board doing this too. In the video itself I could figure out, but sometimes on the forum when people say overdrive I mistake it for the "drive" move of vergil, and get really lost.:/

Yeah that's what I meant, I couldn't remember the fight properly but knew it was something similar to that. Though the idea is still similar isn't it? Since Vergil doesn't move and uses his DG to fight for him in that sense.

You're right I knew when I responded above while saying overdrive it felt very wrong but I couldn't remember the exact name at the time either. I just knew saying overdrive would help others assume the holding down of the Y or triangle button. I still don't know how I am forgetting all of these moves names. I admit I am being lazy now a days when responding without proper skills names but I do always go back and edit my posts with the correct ones soon enough. Why everyone else is also doing so I'm not sure but may have similar reasons as I >.<

After looking at the Move List again I realized it's called "Judgement Cut" and not Overdrive, lol. Why the hell were people calling it Overdrive?! At least I know now so I won't look stupid when I make the video.

Yeah it is similar but I wished holding Judgement Cut would actually let the real Vergil auto-deflect enemy attacks like he does when Dante fights him, lol. But then that'd be way too broken. :P
