My problem with this new dmc and dante isnt about how he looks, sure when the trailer came i was ****ed, but after the interviews and knowing what the engine in which this game was beeing developed on was when i started to think this game wont have the typical dmc gameplay, because lets face it the Unreal Engine for a game like dmc was the worst decision ever, and based by NT previous game it doesnt bode well for dmc

SpawnShooter

This partys getting crazy
I can see what you mean, but, although not DMC standards the Unreal can produce decent action games look at Arkham Asylum.

sure, but every dmc game has had a 60 fps frame rate on consoles and this is a must for dmcs type of gameplay, the UE on consoles cant put out stable 60fps except with sacrifices, the only game with stable 60 fps on consoles is MK vs DC which is a fighting game that doesnt require the amount of characters, NPCs and environments like in a dmc game, heres an article explaining it:

http://pt.scribd.com/doc/15118967/Hitting-60Hz-in-Unreal-Engine

we can also see that in NT enslaved they couldnt even get stable 30 fps especially on the ps3, which shows the lack of effort that this company as ever put on any type of gameplay or graphical stability in their games

While we are on the subject of fan reactions (we never seem to get off ;))

For me and I think a lot of other people (some just don't know how to say, without flaming) the main problem isn't anything to do with DmC, it's to do with DMC, what I mean by that, is that if this is a reboot (no one really knows yet) and don't get me wrong, I think it's great that the are trying to get more fans involved, but, it is technically a cancellation of the old events, which is worse than just never releasing anything and us just assuming the series has ended.

I think that what's happening, isn't a dislike of this game, but fan's disappointment and frustration of the "end" of DMC being projected onto this game without us realizing, which is a bit unfair really, I however am also a big culprit of aforementioned points :p

One the upside though I'm sure that Capcom has noticed the popularity of Dante and DMC so I find it hard to believe they will now stop future products, even if they are not video-game related, so I say we give the game the same chance we would give an other new IP (not that I personal liked any of NT's games, but I've also not played them, that makes me a D***** :D "Hi I'm a stereotypical DMC fan")

Actually, I had a discussion about this with MV awhile back. I think the problem (and ultimately Capcom's decision to reboot) is how difficult it is to please DMC fans. Think about it. The video game industry is a business. Businesses have one goal: make money. The first DMC game when released was something really new and different. It invented the hack and slash sub-genre. Chances are the type of people that look for something new and different and aren't happy with the same thing again and again (Dynasty Warriors anyone?) were drawn to DMC because it was something new and inventive. However, those type of people aren't satisfied with one game like that, no they want more. Meaning Capcom has to keep delivering above and beyond with each DMC game and that's really hard to do. For anyone. So I really think the reboot is Capcom's way of saying, "To heck with it" and instead of trying to please the current fan base to just try to pick knew ones up instead, ones that aren't going to demand constant innovation and new ideas while still not straying from what made them fall in love with the series in the first place (Contradiction? Kinda.)

I see what you're saying and i agree on some points, but I dont think its a good idea to change a game so much that basically allienates most of the fanbase putting them off on what attracted them to the series in the first place just to try and get new ones especially on a niche genre because then they will have lots too prove

I didn't say I agreed with Capcom, but I think that's what they are doing.

My main problem is mostly the look because although I don't hate the look nor do i think it makes him look "emo" or a "Fag", I just think they took the concept of making Dante looking different from before a little too far. So if they could just "tweak" it a little bit and make it look more like Dante than it would be golden. Note, I don't want him to look exactly like the old Dante but just as long as i can tell that this is Dante from a different point of his life that we know nothing about. WHICH WE DON'T.
