Since DmC2 might not come around for a while, why don't we just talk about how we like to see it? Here I'll explain a couple of modes I'd like to see in, and I'll talk about the "new" ones.

MODES:
Mission/Mission Campaign
DmC Reconstruction *NEW*
(The history of Sparda, DmC)
Secret Missions
Training
(Free training, Tutorial, Challenge Trail *NEW*)
Extras
Bloody Palace
And...of course....Options and Online....
1. Mission/Story- I would either want it to be in a perfect order like while Dante is making his way to see Vergil, Vergil jumps out and fight some SWAT team members, like automatically switching characters. Or it can mixed up, like do it in a "individual character fighting game style" way like playing as either Dante, Vergil, or Sparda. If you reached all three of the characters storyline to 100%, you would unlock a true ending like how you do in Blazblue.
2. DmC Reconstruction- Since some games are doing that, I think DmC2 should do it too, just so that the players can understand more about the story and not having their questions unanswered just like the original DMC games did to their fans. They could even have a new scenes like Dante doing a cooking show while fighting Bob Barbas, new boss fights like Dante fighting the Mundus in his human form before he transforms along with having a scene with Vergil fighting the true form inside the giant.
3. History of Sparda- Part of the DmC Reconstruction. Since Sparda's been almost been butchered, why don't they bring him in so we can learn more about his past. He can also be in the DmC2 story by being freed by either Dante or Vergil.
4. Challenge Trail- A new part of training mode. It could teach the players to be better at combos.
5. Roster- I want it to be 2 Dantes, 2 Vergils, and Sparda. Each Dante and Vergil would have a drastically different moveset and (if lucky) the DmC2 versions of Dante and Vergil could even have their "true power" if their meter is 100% full, but it would deplete quick. Like if the meter is about 10-90%, they can use their signature powers and at 100% they can release their full power(maybe Vergil can transform to Semi-Nelo Angelo since he's still alive).
That is all, what would yall like?

i'd luck online i feel strongly that the game should have already put in a good deal of effort on it

make the plot ignore sparda,i really dont like the idea of freeing sparda

feature a less good of one for the good of many nero(if nero is included at all).

there should be something to keep replayability up. im thinking bloody palace randomizer mode that mixes up enemy waves and every wave you get something different these could range from ridicolous to a massive change on gameplay with things like suicide bombers, makeing a random move super-powerful(for you or enemys)

more costumes, and costumes that work in cutscenes also, costumes arn't just a collour scheme swap like what we got in DmC (rather lazy costumes if you ask me)

a higher difficulty curve (oh DmC, needs those so much)

more content at the core i dont mean more missions i mean thigns that will keep you playing for longer i beat DmC once and have not properly played it since and dont plan on it tell i get my mod finished

lady needs to come back and stay human she actually symbolises good things in humanity (in my opinion)

keep old characters returning to a small degree

better atmosphere, i want something like dmc3 (the reason i even play devil may cry)

while combichrist was good i think heavy metal would suit combat more (noisia can stay though dubstep seemed so wrong int eh mundus boss battle)

REMOVE GOLD ORBS(or at least make that a option, sick of using one and feeling like a dirty cheater and when i dont use them someone i know is using one becaause they just dont have the experience)

remove the lost souls they are more trouble then they are worth

generally move the difficulty more the dmc3/1 side of things (there's a difference between making games easier to get into fro newbies and giving those who have played before a snore fest)

speed up combat

that's how i would change it.

i had no issue with the color coded demons. but i would improve on the dialogue. make it 90 fps since the game will probably be out during the middle of the PS4 era. change the devil trigger (so i don't feel to op). slightly faster paced. dante should wear different clothes but keep his jacket.not have copy paste bosses. introduce maybe two or three classic characters. have vergil be the one to create trish as a trap for dante

From DMC incorporated into the DmC canon
White hair, Red Jacket, laid back one liner making badass Dante who doesn't curse his head off. Kick my ass difficulty, Lady/Mary.

A more source material accurate Rebellion
A huge arsenal of USEFUL weapons.
A Vergil who is just a cold blooded mother ****er instead of some dumb "The humans need protection from themselves" plot.

Beowulf instead of Eryx

DmC returning things.

Stance system

That BAMF Mundus VA.

Dante being voiced by Tim Phillips.

Throwbacks to the original canon

Drew Coombs and Reuben Langdon Cameos.

Mrrandomlulz fanservice

Playable Frank West, Pinkie Pie, and Deadpool. (I don't care how, just do the legal crap and put them in the game.)

i totally agree with you until we get to that point. dante's cursing is HIS thing. just like levitating out of swords was DMC1/2 dante's thing and being simpleminded and annoying was DMC3 dante's thing and being the typical anime badass was DMC4 dante's thing. DmC dante is the typical movie badass who has just discovered his role in life. each dante has his own thing and changing that wouldn't be a "good" thing. they have a formula of switching it up between the different styles of dante and i think we had demonic badass in the first two, anime demonic badass in the second two and in this new series he should stick with the western cinematic badass.

-A set up to the aftermath
Just having a a good idea of how mankind is dealing with the demons now that they've been exposed to the existence of them, and how it's changed the world and the way they live. But also knowing what Dante, Vergil and Kat have been up to and if Dante knows or not his bro is bloodlusting for him.

-Dante looking like Dante
Don't think I need to explain this one. He doesn’t have to be an exact duplicate, but just so it’s more familiar would do him good.

-Cap on swearing
Cursing is in every game, but there were a few moments where it was excessive and could've done with less of it in some scenes. Cutting down would be good not just on Dante but other characters. Plus it would show maturity on Dante depending on how many years it’s been since DmC.

-Devil May Cry Business
Needs to be there, simple. It should’ve been in the DmC, even if just at the ending or a hint of it. They have to bring it up. But it should be updated too, in that Dante carries a mobile with him whenever he’s not in the office [the guy has to go groceries shopping, he can’t be there 24/7 XD]

-More brotherly time
Dante and Vergil need to interact more, whether it’s talking or clashing swords with one another. I’d like to see the conflict between these two grow to a whole new level, but still have that tension where Dante still kinda wishes he .

-Familiar faces old and new
To see more characters from the Classic series get reinvented for DmC2, but also bring back original characters like Phineas and Kat, while creating new ones too.

And speaking of faces, seeing Sparda’s is a must! That guy is way overdue for a debut and should play some importance in the plot.

-Angels/Heaven and Hell colliding
Seriously, Eva was the only one we saw. It’d be cool to see them and more of this angel/demon war that went on and if it’ll start up again with Mundus gone and the Hellgate gone poof. But also to let us see if angels can be assholes too, since Phineas never said exactly which race it was that hunted down the Nephilims [and also this might be a threat Dante and Vergil could still encounter.]

-Angel/Demon worlds
Phineas mentioned crossing over into other worlds, and that Nephilims could do this easily, so it could imply there might be worlds where there are angels and demons. But maybe the amulets Dante and Vergil have could come into play as well since the pair were flashing those things like crazy in DmC. I doubt their purpose has change much other than what they unlock [e.g: Vergil's amulet the angel world, and Dante's the demon world, or combined into the perfect amulet, both worlds?]

-Evolving Devil Trigger
DmC threw a bunch of hints about Dante’s DT being yet to reach his full potential, so it should evolve in the next title, making it look more demonic, but just giving it other moves and abilities to pull off too.
But it’d be interesting if DT dived more into the concept of Dante struggling to control his inner demons so that using that power came with consequences.

-Manual Lock-onIn the title. Would really help.

-Tougher levels of combat
I would like this for the harder modes. I like that it had different difficulty, but they should really make it friggin insane for something like Dante Must Die Mode. But overall having enemies more moves and a stronger AI

-More exploration/collectables
Because exploring and collecting stuff is fuuuuun.

-Less forgiving scoring system
Dying makes you lose more points, and getting that SSS is made a hell to reach. And definitely no scoring for finding keys/items you earned a dozen replays ago, that’s just…really silly o_o

-Bosses
Lots more of them, period. But not shoved in there randomly.

-Multiplayer
Yes, you heard me, but only if done right. I’d just find it fun if Dante could team up with another character or Vergil even, and that the game worked both around the idea of multiplayer with the platforming and combat, but also allowed for single player use as well.

-Vergil’s Hat
I…I-I want hatty. :'( Where is hatty?

Change Dante's move system to match Vergil's. Instead of angel and demon 'weapons' (Which all come from demons and it really makes no since to get an angel weapon from a demon.) Give each weapon an angel, demon and human mode. That would triple the possible moves for every weapon. Imagine, Eryx In heavy mode is all heavy punches, in angel mode is all fast kicks and in human mode is one button for medium punches and combos, one for medium kicks and combos like usual. A similar system for every weapon.

Cycle through heavy weapons with right d-pad button, speed weapons with left d-pad button and guns with bottom button. Also, if manual lock can't be done due to the awesome angel demon button layout, allow for hard lock by clicking in the right stick Ala Darksouls (friggin' love that game) It's not perfect, but nothing really is and it would allow me to keep a bead on singular quick enemies as they dash about.

Also, ditch inverse rainstorm for twosome time or some other gunslinger move. Blaahh.

Also, charging guns and THEN hitting a style button will allow you to perform a stylish gun combo akin to Dante's moves in Marvel vs Capcom. Something- Anything to make the guns more of a center piece to Dante's arsenal as one could almost forget they even existed at times with how little love the girls got in both the game play and cut-scenes compared to previous versions of the character where the guns where always his first choice, a lead-in weapon before pulling out the big boy Rebellion.

More in-between and character specific identifying animations. These are the cancel-able trailing animations that follow a button press like a sword swing or Date twirling his guns after firing a ricoshot (Did you even notice that) or the way he'd stumble after a heavy swing of his sword. Just like old Dante would say "Adios amigo" and casually kick Pandora up to his grip playfully after firing the omen in DMC 4.These are how animators instill character in the movements of the avatar on the screen so it's not just 'any' sword swing or 'any' gunshot or a run or a jump or whatever. It's done in a way that makes you subconsciously think "That was Dante's swing, run, jump, gunshot, or special move." Every move and animation must be stylized in a way that coveys character. This game was sorely lacking in that regard.

Also, more personality, less attitude. Stop telling us how Dante feels and start showing us who he is. 'Angry' is not a character description, It's an emotion. Like all emotions we experience several of them during the day.

Also, why wasn't Dante cheesing and laughing with Kat after defeating Mundus. The fact that they were happy it was all over and Vergil was focused as if it were just beginning would have been an ominous contrast easing us into the shot to the chest that was his reveal. In fact Dante should have been a more positive character overall in the face of demonic rule, a bright spot in a dark world that contrasted his brother's colder, more serious focused tone. A light that the previously morbid Katherine slowly gravitates towards as the story progress showing her ascent from the cold darkness of her past into the light of the promise of a new future that this brash devil-may-care punk represents. Further conveyed by the removing of her hood and full reveal of her face for the rest of the story. Dante should be less intense as that is a trait of Vergil. He should be serious only when the life of Kat is at stake and he breaks free from his brother's command to take control of his own path.Instead, Dante was far too angry and tough-guy, violent revenge machine for me. The overall story seemed drab and morbid, even the abrupt downer ending giving no levity to balance out the darkness. t should have ended like the last two games as the demons are now shown to be revealed and roaming free on earth after the destruction of the hell gate, Dante is surrounded by them and alluding to his future as a demon slayer eradicating this vermin from the earth will be his future as the closing cut-scene ends in him charging the demons with a cocky smirk.

Darker, scarier atmosphere. A dilapidated and ruined world after Mundus' rampage. More varied environments: gothic cathedrals, industrial cities, old forests and abandoned towns. Oppressive and haunting background music contrasted with the heavy rock and metal that plays during combat.

More unique and grotesque demons. Terrifying depictions of hellspawn, not humanoid in appearance. Harder bosses that require elaborate tactics to beat.

More mature Dante. A responsible devil hunter who tries to hide his fears with his cocky attitude. Genuinely funny dialogue, less swearing. Memories of the past: insight to Dante's childhood, Sparda's life and the history of the demon world. More everyday interactions: Dante's job as a devil hunter, his free time with Kat and Phineas etc. Possibly a comeback for Lady and/or Trish.

Devil Arms that represent the demons they were obtained from. Weapons with different elemental and magical attributes instead of color coded demon and angel weapons. A chance to create your own combinations of weapon effects by infusing your Devil Arms with different artifacts and relics. A possibility to use your own personal fighting style by selecting two weapons to use in conjunction.

Epic conclusion with Dante facing off against a new, supremely powerful Vergil who tries to take control of the human world.

You know what DmC2 needs?

GIANT MECHS!!
Ed209.jpg

Will there be mechs infected by demonic power?

And for his weapons... maybe infuse them with demonic and/or angelic power.
Arms:
Rebellion
Gauntlets & Shinguards - Punches (Demon mode) & Kicks (Angel mode)
Staff - Axe (Demon Mode) & Scythe (Angel Mode)
Whip - Flail (Demon Mode) & Nunchucks (Angel Mode)
Instrument - Guitar (Demon Mode) & Violin (Angel Mode)
Throwing Weapons - Buzzsaws (Demon Mode) & Shurikens (Angel Mode)

Guns:
Ebony & Ivory
Revenant Shotgun
Submachine Guns
Vulcan Cannon

I would like to see something similar to Devil May Cry 3 with Vergil.
Only closer tied to Sparda. It would be awesome to see Vergil go on a quest to observe and obtain more power by locating his father. While Dante tries to find his father to save him. Vergil and Dante clash because they have different motives, and team up against a common enemy.
It would be nice to see this as well as the fact that DMC haters could actually not despise the plot. A Vergil's perspective on the story (Longer Than Vergil's Downfall) would be awesome to be unlocked by beating Dante's story mode. Redesign on the characters would be cool. Like if you were to make Dante's hair a little longer, and make him look juts as modern to the first DMC Devil May Cry would be sweet! :D And Original Vergil Concert from Vergil's Downfall throughout the whole game would be the sickest ****. (You could drop some bombs like, if he were to be called Vergil, he would say something like, "It's Nelo, not Vergil, my human name no longer applies." WHICH WOULD BE THE SICKEST ****!)

> More playable characters ?
> Devil trigger which does something other than slowing time (Quicksilver was my least fav style in DMC3)
> No more weapon specific enemies please !
> Ebony&Ivory with more firepower ?? I mean i love those guns and i hardly use them because of their ineffectiveness

After reading the novel and seeing how crazy Gilver was, I think it would be a great idea for DmC Vergil to become Gilver. He has all the ingredients to be him, no love for humanity what so ever, red eyes, and a calm demeanor.

I also thought about how they could combine Nero Angelo and Gilver.

After the events of VD, Vergil finds Mundus' remains(the buildings or whatever), absorbs them, and gains the Angelo armor & cape from there it copies the book.
