should mvc3 have had a unlock able outfit for Dante that is the reboot threads from the trailers?

Note- I'm not asking for the whole redesign, just the threads.

I'm interested in what that would look like.

I was wondering the same thing but I think mvc3 has all the original characters so the new dante might look out of place unless the have alternate costumes for everyone and not just custom colors

yea something like that. But seeing that Capcom is into stealing money so blatantly you'll probably need to buy a new entire game for that

I don't play MvC3, but I still think it would be cool to see. ^^
mvc3 is far easier than mvc2. I've never even beat the second one, and i gamefly'ed mvc3 months ago and, only played as dante, and destroyed it.... with ease on normal.

its like you guys read my mind, because i thought it would be very cool to have DmC dante as an unlockable outfit in mvc3

This game is not even out yet.....

So I would say no, It does not need to have a game with a character who has not even been established yet.

Lets wait to see how fans react to him after the game is released and than maybe I would consider it.

Sooo... People are pro towards getting an original DMC appearance for the DmC Dante, but not when it is the other way around... If that's not hypocrisy, then I don't know what is.

There is a HUGE difference your failing to see here.

And thats the fact that one is just a new character that hasn't even been fully established yet.

And the other is a fully established character with a long history that dates back to the original DMC.

Like I said, we should wait and see how this Dante is received AFTER this game has been released.

But we already know the original Dante all to well over the years. Having him appear as a unlockable costume for the reboot to the series he started out in is WAY different than having a new character who people barely even know appear in MVC3.

I could understand if it meant to implant a whole new character. But these are just outfits. It's looks only, the gameplay would stay the same in every way. So it doesn't matter how established a character is.

How come it does not matter?

These DLC are mostly based around popularity.

If this Dante has not even been established yet nor have a big fan following than why would Capcom even consider adding him as a costume?

If they truly were about popularity, then how come Dante get a Sparda outfit? Was that really so popular over, well, his other main outfits from the other games? I don't buy that.

Matter of personal taste.

For all we know it is indeed more popular for other fans out there.

Did they make a vote off? Or did they just take a swing in hopes of not missing? In my opinion, they missed. I would much rather see Dante in one of his other DMC outfits.

I'm not sure what they did.

They could have just taken a vote around the office.

Or on one of their forums.

But like I said its a matter of personal taste.

I to would have liked to have seen a different costume. My favorite thus far is Dante in DMC2's outfit. But the Sparda outfit is still pretty badazz IMO.

Totally agreed. *fistbump*
As for Sparda's outfit, I've never really liked it. The whole 17th century royal garments just doesn't fit him, considering Dante's and Vergil's styles. I had hoped for something cooler... And the monocle is just ridiculous.

But yeah, it's a matter of personal taste.

I think putting DmC Dante as a skin would be a good idea...if they make him free (unlikely since this is Capcom, right?). If not, you probably wouldn't see many DmC Dante's on youtube unless it's Original Dante Kicks DmC Dante's Butt or something xD which I wouldn't mind seeing.
