DmC Metacritic User Reviews are getting absurd

Those numbers keep rising every 5 minute refresh. And I get the feeling that this isn't the only place they're attempting something like this.

I'm basically saying that I think numerous people wrote scathing reviews in advance for the day it was released, and that they probably did little more than play the demo or read around the net for the flaws of the game .
yeah, you know what's funny is that they aren't getting those three years of bitching back

One flaw with Metacritic... you don't actually have to play the game to rate it.

The funniest part is, people are arguing that user scores for this game are more credible than critic scores. I mean...both sides are opinionated yeah but we all know why we trust critics with these sorts of things over anon users unfortunately...

That's normally true for me... but this is definitely one of the exceptions. Still, people hyping or bashing a game doesn't really affect me much in whether I'm going to buy something or not.

Metacritic is a joke, and I doubt more than maybe 15% of all the bashers posting their "reviews" of the game have actually played it; they're watching playthroughs online or just reading stuff they find on forums...probably from here no less, sadly.

The internet trolls are basically falling victim of their herd mentality: Identify a common point of "hate", declare it as their enemy and voila; People who don't even love themselves suddenly join in a "greater cause, saving the gaming industry", declaring their taste as the true taste and forcing their opinion down their throat. Therefore not agreeing with us makes you our enemy.

That's both a false alarm and a flawed logic. False as in every entertainment-oriented industry (movies, music and video games) always had their ups and downs and overall things always balance out. Flawed because by identifying themselves in agreement they treat everyone outside of their field as hostile. But I'm not hostile. I just want to enjoy the game I like, be it DmC or whatever else it may be.

There's no greater indulging bond other than fighting against the same enemy. And in their mind he comes in many forms: Capcom, Ninja Theory or "that one guy who commented on something I don't like". So they can keep on going dictating what is a good game with the same vigorous and violent method people hate you for supporting the opposite team on football and many other stuff I won't mention because we all know by now what they are.

tl;dr Ignore them and have a great leisure time by playing the game you like because the herd mentality will never go away.
