DmC Japan sales numbers

CheeseKao

Lord Cheesington
So it looks like 110,429 copies of DmC were sold from the 17th to 20th of January. Those are nice numbers but I believe it sold less than DMC4 did but given that it's developed overseas, I think those numbers are okay. I'm more interested in seeing what the sales numbers will be be like in the US.

So much for "The Japanese hates DmC"... It might not be what we've hoped for, but that's still alot of copies sold in Japan everything considered. ^^

Well whatever happens sale wise i hope they realise that sales are not always a direct indication of how good the game is, and team up with Ninja theory for a second game as i truly enjoyed it, second only to DMC 3 for me. With these DMC4 comparisons it does not really give too much away as DMC4 came out was when the new consoles were on the scene, this DmC has come out in what looks to be the last year of this generation before the big jump to the next.

Numbers are Ok or even good.

Of course DMC4 saled more but people forget that it was the one of the first action game on a new generation of consoles... We should take account that the JP market, as the UK one, went down year to year and for sure there are "casual" gamers, which were turned away after DMC4, cuz of all the backtracking and other stuff... I know a lot of them who just play for fun and not go to deep into gameplay... All of them were dissapointed in the game

And before people come out and try to compare it to sales as for franchises as RE... It is the wrong way... Just look at DMC3 for example... It sold 180K in the first week to a time where game market was very heatlhy... but it was still way below DMC2, which was ****

DMC HD for example just sold 45K in their first week but of course shouldn't be considered as failure as well

For a game that was hated from the beginning, these numbers for now are more than ok

I hate how people keep wanting to compare it to DMC 4 for which absolutely terrible. DmC is obviously better.

Story time for the hell of it, gather around kiddies.

I remember being in a conversation a while back in the uncomfortable company of an anime fanatic who was so against DmC in a book store and saying this was disrespecting Japan and that no one in Japan likes the western influences. Talk about an obnoxious motherfucker who knew nothing of what he was talking about. My friends from Japan was conveniently available this time where he showed up and hilarity ensued.

I remember him turning around to the dude and basically saying stuff like, " F*ck your anime bullshit and you know nothing of my people. I have never seen anyone with the gaudy sense of cool someone like Dante has and no one I know acts like Dante. Come to my country thinking you can fit in with that attitude will make me personally chop you to pieces with my samurai sword." He then insulted him in japanese and the guy had like nothing to say. So funny.

Yeah, I don't get why people have this image of Japan only being about anime and manga. :/ The worst are the kind that only know 'kawaii' and say it alot, and think they can go to Japan and be instantly liked because they are Western. For goodness sake, Japan has such a rich cultural history, but all some people focus on is pop culture and the idea of 'crazy/cool Japan'.
Uhh....mini rant over. It's just your story ignited something in me. :P

Yea, I really don't like the fanatical anime people who think Japan is some wonderland of anime and cosplay where really after staying there for over a month and a half just proved to me it's relatively the same as living just about anywhere else in the world. It isn't so much culture shock as people might think or maybe hope. Japan is the patron saint of the internet when it comes to the strange and or adorable but in reality the internet doesn't paint the real picture. Visit Japan if you ever get the chance because it's a fantastic place to visit but don't expect to sport an otaku state of mind freely thinking that it's more the norm over there than it is anywhere else.

That's subjective. While DmC had a better story (which was pretty mediocre and it is not hard to beat DMC4s story) DMC4 obviously have the better combat, which have always been the main strength to the DMC serie.

Still, DMC4 is not as good as DMC3.

Otaku are scum of the earth over there, that's what my teacher says. >_< I've seen a few news reports blaming male otaku for decline in population because they like anime women more than real. Also when there is a child murdering their parent, a big deal is made if the child is otaku or a shut in. Seems like those two things go together. Or maybe that's because of how thye report on the news. :|

Anyway, DmC. I wonder if sales will continue like this? Also, I am so hunting down a bigger version of that picture:P

.

Maybe in some aspects, but from what I have gathered from fans and the game alike, the gameplay in DMC4 is believed to be superior even amongst some of the most loyal of supporters.
