DmC Devil May Cry Movie: Dream Story Plot

Ronin

Let's rock, baby!
I wonder how the story of the Devil May Cry movie will go? It should go Matrix style as I said.

these are examples.

- The Nephilim. They should have a variety of that race. The first nephilim should be the ones according to the Bible. They are the first nephilim. Goliath was one of them until the day he was slain by King David. Over the centuries, Sparda and Eva were the first angel and demon to give birth to a new nephilim race.

- Sparda and Eva. Angels and demons. God created the Heavens and its angels, and Earth for mankind. However, one of the angels (Lucifer) rebelled his Creator. Banished along with his followers, he made Hell and started to taint his Father's creation to sin.

For Sparda, I'm thinking he should still have his story about rebelling his kind for the human race. After witnessing Jesus and the miracles, Sparda betrayed his master (Satan, who was once Lucifer) along with his former brother, Mundus, to follow the ways of the Lord and help defend mankind from evil.

During the 20th century, that's where he met Eva. When Lucifer heard of Sparda's and Eva's children, fearing this his powers were weakening for a while. So Mundus took over for a while and ordered his minions to hunt them down.

- Vergil. Instead of Mundus not knowing of his existence and that Dante had a twin brother. Why not for Mundus to think that Vergil is dead; but is actually alive in secret, and thinks Dante is the last left to kill.

And if there'll be a Dante vs Vergil fight. What happens after Mundus defeat, Dante, Kat and Vergil witness humanity free from the demons' control with Limbo and Earth merged. However, Vergil believes that not all humans are free since the day Adam and Eve were tempted to eat the forbidden fruit and were doomed to sin. He thinks mankind need to be controlled of their actions or destroy them all completely in order for it to start over under "their rule as the new nephilim.

But Dante thinks its a bad idea and that they weren't raised by their parents to conquer and they cannot end up like Lucifer did. Kat begs the brothers to not fight but Vergil pushes her against the stands. Which leads to a duel/fight.

Anyone got any ideas for a movie plot? Something to differentiate or share the same stories as the games from DMC & DmC?

I'd love to see Devil May Cry have connection to the bible. And of course, how Sparda betrayed his kind, Mundus and along with former master after being inspired by Jesus to defend mankind.

What of the "Dante vs Vergil" fights?

In the movie Vergil's point of view of humans. He thinks that the mankind of now should be erased due to the sinful actions they've caused since the beginning where Adam and Eve were tempted by the snake to eat the forbidden fruit and were doomed to sin and cast out of Eden.

Dante wouldn't let that happen and that their parents raised them to be protectors not conquerors.

Got any more story ideas for the movie?

Its gotta be something that connects to real life events. And of course religion if possible.

Anyone got any ideas for DMC's movie story?

How two counterparted games can fit together? I like the idea of Dante & Vergil being nephilim. Leave Nero as a cambion.

That then brings up the slight problem of God sitting on his arse while demons enslave humanity. The justification in the real world for the imaginary sky fairy not doing anything is that mankind has free will, but in DmC's world that free will is taken by force by Mundus, so there's no reason an archangel shouldn't be ramming Osiris down Mundus' throat.

DMC, including DmC, doesn't really work with a conventional light vs dark, Heaven vs Hell scenario. In the original series the forces of Hell subjugated humans without any opposition, until one of their own went against them. Aside from holy water there's nothing in the DMC series that even hints to Heaven existing - even the Order's idiotic claims to be angels can be ignored, because they worship Sparda as a god.
As for DmC it's more of a LoK style Hylden vs vampires theme; 2 races that are superior to humans fighting it out for their own reasons(or not as the case may be, we see no angels in the entire game) rather than a classic Heaven vs Hell where one side is inherently good and the other bad thing.

And of course, how Sparda betrayed his kind, Mundus and along with former master after being inspired by Jesus to defend mankind
That didn't happen in DmC though. All Sparda did was fall in love with an angel and then get banished for fathering Nephilim. Being a "Son of Sparda" doesn't really mean anything in DmC, any kid of a demon and an angel would be extremely powerful.

It be easy to have elements of the classic go into the reboot since its a reboot, you have carte blanche to bring in whatever you want, however you want.

Integrating the reboot into the classic is a more trickier affair because you cant just shove it in as it will cause massive contradictions worse than the ones we already got. It requires a lil more finesse.

In the movie version, if they somehow change Mundus' appearance in a combo of the Crow's Top Dollar & Brad Dourif. Perhaps instead of a banker, he'd be a drug dealer or perhaps a crimelord or something.

i'd like to see how humanity reacts to being brainwashed, the disgust, the eventual cynical and paranoid behaviours of humanity and how they react to having a "hero" who plunged them into the chaos and despair of realizing lies and truths are one and the same in the world they once had, and they must rebuild from.

how humanity reacts indeed, to Dante saving them from a threat that they can do little against, how they panic and try to nuke the demons out of existence, toxin the water or whatever with poison or something (i don't pretend i know the rules of how demons work, but the idea is how desperation leads to acceleration of the already inevitable world destruction, done in the same manners humanity will likely destroy themselves with)

an entire race overturned and placed into incredible uproar and confusion, being forced to watch as Dante has to kill an entire planet of demons.

soooo, i guess something that follows DmC's moral of "humans are being brainwashed, OMG CONFORMITY." to "humans don't need the assistance of demons to destroy themselves, they are going to blame inner and outer "demons" though" so i'm hoping for a message and story based around humanity scapegoating and blaming something else for their own terrible actions, they nuked another country because it held the same terrible, evil demons that the country could be scapegoated as in real life, furthermore, "savage and uncivilized" is a stance humanity takes in the modern world to dehumanize opposition, so it would have a nice sense of irony for them to be killing demons, the race that is actually true, heh, they even mirror how other countries and terrorist groups are represented, savages who have no society but are yet organised enough to elect a ruler and obey him or her.

that is the DmC movie i'd want to see, also, Dante being a bad-ass, that's a must for what will certainyl be an action film.

I seriously have major doubts about DmC as a live-action movie. Like, with actual actors and special effects... that could either be insanely epic but cost a lot of money or the action sequences could be awfully boring. But storywise, I think there's a lot of things that they can explore, like for instance: the existence of other nephilim and Sparda. Also, the reason as to why Vergil could escape 'death' and Eva could not is still a question mark to me. I'd love to see scenes that use the beautiful scenery in Dante's dream state, or even 'hell like' furnace of souls.

I'm no expert, but wouldn't an animated movie be cheaper to produce? I mean, even if they did manage to properly execute all that, without a big marketing campaign (which will also cost a lot of money), the movie could possibly fail.

Plus, I'm not even sure if the movie is still considered at this point. I recently bought the book 'A Divine Comedy' in which it said that it was in production, but since it was written in April or so, I don't know whether to believe that or not.

It's been awfully quiet around in the Devil May Cry world. Besides that trademark, of course. Hell, even the twitter/facebook accounts rarely ever post something. I hope that means because they've got their hands full with new stuff... but I'm afraid to get my hopes up.

Also- hi! New poster. :) I've been lurking for quite a few months, though.

Well for my DMC movie I wanted to do a LOST style narrative that's split btw flashback and present day sections in order to use the lesser liked DMC stories without having to commit wholeheartedly to them so you can 'edit" or punch it up.

Jak had the idea of doing a narrative that took place after the events of the game so using the style I just described could serve balancing the core fanbase with newer viewers, keeping everyone on the same level.
